Having stitches out today/driving
Hi, well i've just been out for a short drive, first one since BA. Found it ok, although i had a few ouch moments,- parking was one of them. i've got to drive to the clinic today to have my stitches removed, and its a good 30 minutes drive, but i'm going to leave early, so i can just take my time.
Is it painful having the stitches removed? Do you think i will be ok to drive home afterwards? I'm back to work tomorrow, so i will have to be driving to and fro there, but its only a very short journey.

Thanks Natalia, thats good to know, i was a bit worried. Where i had my drains, the right hand side has obviously bled a bit as you can see the blood through the plaster, hope its ok. Just got to remember to drive like a learner and shuffle the stearing wheel a bit more.

I'm back!! Well it did hurt, but thankfully it didn't take long. The nurse had to tell me to breathe as i kept holding my breath when she took them out I took it easy, and the drive was ok, getting into 5th gear was a bit uncomfortable, but not too bad. I did one manouvre when i was parking at home and that really hurt,- must have flexed the muscle, feels ok now though, just a little tender.
Got steri strips on and they can be taken off on Friday.
Best bit,- i've been able to take a shower!! Ahhhhh Bliss
Worst bit,- got to go back to work tomorrow

Glad the stitches-out thing went okay! I think mine are dissolvable... at least I hope so. Getting the drains out was bad enough, I don't want anymore fiddling down in the incision area!! Boo for back to work! End of your nice boobie holiday!

Re: Having stitches out today/driving
It stung a bit for me too having my stitches out, but was over very quick, no pain afterwards though so that's good. Driving gets easier although you do drive like a learner for a week or so. I found the seat belt the most annoying as it rubbed my cleavage and made it a bit sore. The first shower is the best ever.

Re: Having stitches out today/driving
I told 3 women at work, i'm hoping its stayed at 3 people whilst i've been off. TBH i'm not too bothered whether people know or not. I tried on my uniform t'shirt today and unless you really studied me before, i don't think you would be able to tell that i'd had a BA, because they are very baggy, so my boobies are not obvious.
I feel so much more confortable this evening since having the stitches out,- they feel more natural.

First shower is just the best thing isn't it? I had disolvable stitches too but had to have two snipped and taken out which didn't hurt at all. After having drains removed I think you can survive anything!!!
