Buddha belly
Hey ladies
I hope I am posting this in the correct place....apologies if not..anyway here goes
I have a little question that I wondered if anyone knows the answer...does everyone get this dreaded bloating after the GA???...
I've had a couple of operations and have never had this???.. Is it the pain killers after rather than the GA itself????...xx

Re: Buddha belly
I don't think everyone gets it, and it'll be to varying degrees. I'd had an op prior to my BA, but was only out for 20mins and never had any of the side affects like I did out for over an hour. The pain killers do contribute too.
We're just giving you the facts in case it does happen!

Re: Buddha belly
Wooo active member! I'm still a newbie although I haven't shut up this week so that might change soon!
I've had 5 GA's now, I always get a bit constipated after but this is the first time I've had a really big tummy. I assume it might be something to do with the amount of fluid surrounding my new boobs and some of it is hanging around my tum. Might be wrong though.
My pj bottoms are a size 18 as oppose to my usual 12/14 to allow for this and I needed them this big! Luckily I bought them ahead as I expected it. I actually look like budda!!

Re: Buddha belly
Hi hun, I only got a very little belly from the GA and the codeine so not a proper Buddha belly. Just make sure you have a supply of Senna in ready in case you get it as it will help you go to the toilet as codeine does make you constipated, and peppermint tea is also supposed to help. xx

Re: Buddha belly
It's something to do with the MSG in it that could possibly thin your blood. X
