scars hurting?
Hey,
I'm 11 weeks post op and my scars have started hurting, they look a purplish colour as opposed to normal pale colour as at my review appointment 1 week after op.
Is this normal?

Re: scars hurting?
My scars still hurt or feel uncomfortable from time to time. They are still quite purple in colour but I am ok with that as I know how long it took my c section scars to go pale.
I am expecting twinges, niggles etc for a few more months as yet after reading up on posts and general info on here.
Xx

Re: scars hurting?
Hey, I rung the hospital today and explained what I was feeling and colour of scars and the nurse said it was my bodies way of breaking down the internal stitches.
So have been reassured that it's normal.

Internal stitches that are dissolvable take around three to 6 months to fully dissolve x

Re: scars hurting?
Scars often go through a stage of looking worse before they start looking good and fade, if they are uncomfortable pop a cotton pad or panty liner over them for a few days to cushion them. XXX

Charlii
I amwearing wires all the time but they sit no where near the scars (the wires must be a good 1cm away from scars) wo no chance of them irritating them.
Well last night I massaged my scars with bio oil and they felt better, did the same this morning and they seem much better not so sore
