What do the vitamins do for your hair?
I'm always losing mine. So much every time I brush or wash it! X

Re: Vitamins Post OP?
I take the well woman pregnancy vitamins. After my first child it went so thin you could see my scalp - so i cut my hair really short. When pregnant with my second, i read that some women take prenatals as a 'miracle' cure for hair. So after giving birth this time i continued taking them.
Honestly it has made so much difference, i must have literally 3 x thicker hair - and it's now shoulder length! It is growing so fast, plus my nails are really strong now. Friends and family have commented that it looks like totally different hair! I tried perfectil previously (designed for hair and nails) and that did nothing for me. I literally shed no hair now!
However...i have heard that some Docs don't recommend taking prenatals as the vitamin levels aren't designed for non-pregnant women...so perhaps i shouldn't be promoting this. It's just what i choose to do xxx

Re: Vitamins Post OP?
Oh interesting to know. I'd love thicker hair it's too thin but the amount I lose is scary! I'm sure I'll be bald one day x

Re: Vitamins Post OP?
Yeah, i was majorly paranoid about it - hence me doing some googling and finding out about prenatals.
Like i said, i'm not sure it's necessarily the 'right' thing to do - but certainly has not done me any harm. I think high level of iron is the thing doc's worry about with some prenatals (as this can build up in your body) - but i believe the Wellwoman ones have low levels of that.
I eat really healthy, but there's obviously something in those tablets that my hair loves lol! xx

Re: Vitamins Post OP?
Its 'generally' 2 weeks post-op before restarting vit supplements.
If you eat a healthy balanced diet you should get all the vitamins you need and it will also promote good healing.
For hair - my hair came out terribly when I was very ill 3 years ago. It was so bad I was in the shower and it was coming away in my hands. Very frightening...
I was advised to use pure coconut oil from holland and Barratt and it was like magic! Honestly.... My hair was getting healthier by the day using it.
I still use it now and my hairdresser always comments on thick my hair is and always on the condition saying how good it is and I swear its the cocnut oil. Its amazing! Xx

Re: Vitamins Post OP?
Cookie, do you rub the coconut oil into your hair or into your scalp? Gonna try both methods at the same time xx

Re: Vitamins Post OP?
All through your scalp and hair. I leave it on overnight under a shower cap - come morning, you'll start seeing such a difference almost immediately. Xx
Just to add - try googling it Blondie. The reviews are amazing and it was for me too. Xx
