Vitamins
I have my surgery booked for the 3rd December and have just got back from holiday! It's freezing!!!!
Back to sorting myself out as now only 2 weeks till my new boobies!! :) VERY excited!
They have told me not to take vitamins for 2 weeks prior, does anything know why? I asked why but all the nurse could say was its to be on the safe side!
I take them because I have issues with my hair falling out and these vitamins help.
I would love it if anyone the the actual reason so I could feel it is more than to be on the safe side!
Does anyone know why?
Also this might be a very silly and obvious question but do I need my eyelash extensions removed or are these ok for surgery? It's not the fake stick on ones these are professionally applied and last up to 3 weeks I have them at the moment and get them maintained every 2 to 3 weeks.

Re: Vitamins
Vitamins can affect your bloods hunny, so taking them before and after surgery is not advised.
They can affect thinning or clotting. X

Re: Vitamins
Any vitamins can affect your body, which in turn can affect how the anaesthetic reacts, so you don't want to be taking anything that might upset that.
Lashes...Im not sure about the semi permanent ones...They may tape your eyes shut. I'd perhaps check with the clinic on that one.

Re: Vitamins
You should be fine with your semi-permanent lashes but I'd personally call your clinic just to check. The last thing you'd want is to be refused surgery on the day for something so simple.
If your body requires vitamins hun the best thing you can do for yourself and your body is get them naturally, through a natural food resource.

Re: Vitamins
Thank you for everyone's help!
Its been agreed to stop vitamins 1 week before and 1 week after :)
Still need to double check about the lashes, fine of they need to be removed like you say cookie don't want my lashes getting in the way of the new twins!!! :))
My main issue is my body doesn't retain iron, this is why my hair falls out easily. I will need to up my iron rich foods and vitamin C foods to absorb the iron to keep the levels up!
I nearly have everything I need!
Bras = m and s high impact sports 34DD and 34E (hoping its the E that's what I am aiming for :))))
Button up Pj's x 2 = Primark 7 quid each! Bargain and so fleecy and cosy!
Arnica Tablets = 2 a day from boots 30c level
Pain killers codene (sp?) = boots pack of 16 for possible pains once hospital supply is over
Dry shampoo
Wet wipes (love wet wipes)
Magazines and DVDs galore!! To keep me entertained!! Haha!
V pillow = I can not decide between normal or memory foam?! Help me!! Lol!
Anything else anyone can think of?
Why would anti histamines be needed out of curiosity?
Xxx

Re: Vitamins
You should seem pretty sorted hun! You'll find a thread in the 'Breast Augmentation Information' section of the forum in the 'your surgery and beyond' part which offers a whole shopping list of things you might like to take with you. What's not on there I don't think and I really should add it is an energy drink like red bull or lucazade. The high auger zap of energy is great for when you wake up and from the GA it just gives you a zap of energy, and throat lose gets too because sometimes your throat hurts after surgery.
Anti-histimines are used when the itching sensation kicks in as all the nerves start healing. For some women the anti- histimines are a great help, for others... A simple ice pack works, but it's worth having them in just incase they work fir 'you'. Xx
