time of surgery
Morning
Just had my call to let me know what time i'm getting picked up Wednesday and it's not till 11. It's around a 2 hour journey so i'm guessing I won't be going in to theatre till really late. Bit gutted as that means less recovery time before I go home. What time have others had surgery? (I'm with thg) x

Re: time of surgery
Are you a day case or overnight?
My admission time was 1130 and I didn't go down until 340 as I was 2nd to last on the list... I was overnight and although the wait was annoying because of the hunger, I preferred it personally as it meant I was still a bit drowsey as I wasn't looking forward to staying overnight alone (was fine in the end)
if you arnt early in the morning then there will be women in before you so it just depends whereabouts on the list you are... hopefully you wont wait too long xx

Re: time of surgery
getting picked up at 11 is a nice time laura!
i was with THG too, i got picked up at 5am though (i'm not a morning person!!), got there at 7am, and didn't get brought down for surgery till 11.30am..
definitely take a book, magazine or something to pass the time hun, but other than that you will be absolutely fine xx THG will look after you, the staff at the hospital are lovely xx

That's good that your overnight then, like blue says, your be so well looked after throughout the night also.... if worse came to worse and you didn't have a straightforward recovery they wont discharge you until they see fit anyway so don't worry about that :) your have a great experience xx

Re: time of surgery
My admission time was 14.30, surgery @17.30 and recovered and back in my room by 19.00 ! It was great for me because it gave me the day to finish things off in the house/sort kiddies, and I was still home by lunchtime the next day :) xx

Re: time of surgery
Whatever time you get admitted Laura - you're going to get your BOOBS!
Whether its 8 in the morning or 3 in the afternoon... this IS your special day Laura, so chin up sweetie - you're almost there now!

Re: time of surgery
later pick up time = less time to try and entertain yourself! I had a 7am admission call with THG, and into surgery around 10am, so less time before hand, but it was a loooong night. At the end of the day though, they wont let you leave until they're happy that you're safe and healthy. Don't worry about it, just be excited for the boobs!

Re: time of surgery
Hey Laura,
My admission time was 7am and I went down to theatre at 8.30, they really were super efficient. I suppose it will depend on whether they keep on track for timings during the day. Don't worry though, they won't kick you out in the morning until you're ready.
I left at 8.30am; had to wait around for Mr Russo to come and see me before I left. If you're one of the last in theatre you'll probably be one of the last to leave!
woohoo, not long now though! Exciting!!x
