best time of day for surgery?
Hi ladies, As you know i have had my ba day moved forward a day (2wks time) and now im wondering what time of day is the best time to have an op,
You see im a worrier and it hasnt made my life any easier with the surgeon deciding he cant work on the sat as hes going back home to italy for something or other, i dont really care i have paid my money in good faith and now i am having to re arrange everything!!
anyway I have been told that im having my ba at 4.30pm so does that mean im the last one in? so could he be tired, or in a rush as he wants to get his plane?, my pcc said that someone else was in for a bigger op than me so they were going in first, is it like some kind of cattle yard, wheel one in and wheel one out!!!! I dont mean to scare anyone believe me im scarying myself enough !! I would have preferred to be first one of the day i think, its like they have squeezed me in and I dont like the thought of that.
Does anyone agree with me or should i just shut up and stop worrying

Re: best time of day for surgery?
I personally think it will make any difference what time or where on the list you are hun, your surgeon is an expert in his field.
I hoped I would be early morning, but I had mine about 3 o clock and there is nothing wrong with mine.
When it got close to my day I started to worry about anything, and maybe you are having your last minute nerves xx

Re: best time of day for surgery?
I really don't think the time of day will affect your op hun, your ps is an expert after all whatever time of day he performs! Many surgeons you will find perform many op's on the same day, I remember speaking to one particular surgeon at one of the consultations I had, who informed me he performs about 9 a day!
I requested to be first in when I had mine, the only reason being I knew I would be an absolute wreck (I get very anxious and nervous!) and was afraid I would run and hide if I had too much time to think and get worked up!
You will be absolutely fine hun so don't worry

I dont think it will make a difference what time of day you have your BA either. Personally I would have prefered to have mine in the morning but had to wait till after lunch. I seemed to be waiting for ages which gave me abit too much time to think. Aside from that though I really dont think it will matter. xx

Re: best time of day for surgery?
I understand why your worried, I was the last on my day and it did cross my mind that if my surgeon had got up as early as I had and he'd been up all that time doing repitive surgery any number of things could happen... plus I was having 2 operations so he'd be in theatre for longer and have to concentrate longer.
But I really had nothing to worry about, your surgeon if you've selected him properly is a pro. If you want to put your mind at rest perhaps ask how many people are booked in for that day, maybe they moved you to that day to fill it up?

Re: best time of day for surgery?
I thought this too.
Basically what happens is women who are having a daycase op will go in first. They'll usually get the first few slots, up until about 1-2pm. Then women who are staying overnight will go down later as they can be monitered by nurses throughout the night.
Regardless of when you have your surgery your PS will make your boobs look perfect. It's not worth the hassle and reop if he rushes, not to mention to bad press he could get thanks to BJSF!
You'll be fine, try not to worry too much, he's the expert!
