Just starting out, NEED advice!! Empty Just starting out, NEED advice!!

Post by charliee151 21st September 2013, 4:57 pm

Hi all, I'm a newbie so this may be a long post, but I hope someone can help!
I've wanted surgery since I was thirteen, 10 years on my feelings/boobs haven't changed I now have a stable job and the funds to finally do this yay!
I am currently a 34A/ very small B ideally I would love to be D/DD, I am I size 12/14 and 5ft 6in. I am not after glamour model 'stuck on' boobs but just a natural-ish shape/size and cleavage!!
I have contacted four different companies The Hospital Group, Harley Medical, My Breast and Transform, but now have conflicting ideas from each surgeon and don't know what to do!
Hospital Group - Mr Alleruzo: I found no reviews on him but was impressed with the clinic visit, however he offered me 525 Unders and a surgery date 6 days later
HMG - Saw Jordan the nurse, realllllly liked her have been assigned Mr Sleiter, Jord suggested 385 overs he's apparently the 'boob man' of Liverpool and doesn't have available dates until end of Nov.
My Breast - Mr Leiw, very short consult and only came away with a little business card and no information booklets as supplied by others... buuuttt he wanted me to have 340 overs which I liked but then I'm now worried this will be too small!
Transform in Liverpool - Ms Maggi, really liked her felt comfortable with her and liked the clinic, shes suggested 410/460 overs which im thinking may just be a little too big for me she has dates in a few weeks and I have to have a two week cooling off period to ensure its what I want which is another element I liked.
I'm now confused with which is best and what will help me achieve the look I want. Finance is not a problem and so I will not be going with the best deal/cheapest.
SO I suppose what I'm asking is for recommendations on these companies/surgeons and anyone with similar size/shape/height as me to tell me their story or before/after pics.
I also hear a lot of people always wish they'd gone bigger is this true?
Has anyone managed to haggle at these clinics to get a good deal?

Confused and hopeful Give You
H

Hi and welcome to the forum you can only haggle with the commercial clinics so not with mybreast

A lot of ladies do say they wish they have gone bigger but it is normally very early on before the breasts have dropped... Straight after the implants will look held very tightly therefore appearing smaller then the final result which can take 6 months to see...

I personally went with transform and I have had a great experience, no complaint at all... However it had to be how you feel most comfortable with... And you don't have to stick with the surgeons you have seen at the clinics, you can ask to see a different one!

Good luck on your search :) xx

First of all Jordan will have been a PCC which are basically glorified sales people, she is in no position to be giving you implant size recommendations the ONLY person who can do this is the surgeon once he has assessed your body. I think a lot of people say they want a D/DD but our idea of a D/DD seems to be bigger than what it actually is. The best thing to to find pictures of the look you want and go by these not cup sizes. And yes many women do successfully haggle with the big clinics. Have you looked into BAAPs/BAPRAS? Xx

Thanks for the replies!!
Its all quite overwhelming when you start to look into it properly!!
Nicole, do you mean independent surgeons on the register? If so no I haven't, just the main clinics is where I've started at the minute.
I've liked a couple but maybe I need to shop around a bit more to ensure im getting the surgeon that's perfect for me! Lots of work to do, thanks ladies!!!

Hi and welcome :)
Just echoing what the other girls have said really about research... Do as much as possible & also go on as many consultations you need until you've found the right one for you. Also it's a good idea to see a BAAPS/BAPRAS registered surgeon to find out their opinion -even if you don't end up going with them. These surgeons are at the top of their game, & aren't just after your money!
Theirs tons of info on here... It might be an idea to have a rough idea of what size/placement etc you'll need.. And see what the surgeons say & how it differs from what you think.
Also like has been said previously size is relative! what I think is a dd could be completely different to what you think a dd is. So definitely take pictures of 'boob idols' with yiu :)
Good luck & look forward to hearing how it all goes xx

Hi hun, sort of ... Although you don't have to be BAAPs/BAPRAS registered to run an independent practise, although most do. Take a look around the forum there's loads of info on BAAPs/BAPRAS. As Becciann said, it's always worth going for a consult with one and they do things differently to the big clinics. Most will charge you for the consult although there are some who don't, MyBreast only use BAAPs BAPRAS and their consult fee is only £25 x

Hiya, well done on doing your research - though you have had different recommendations for size and placement which must be confusing!

I can't help with feedback for the surgeons you have seen, but with regards to boob greed I am very happy with the size of mine. My op was on 31st July this year, I went from a AA cup to an E in modern measurements/C in traditional measurements with 310cc unders. This is exactly what I wanted, but I know lots of girls wish they had gone bigger. I am 5'11" and have a slim build so quite different to you.

Tbh there is no point comparing, the best person to advise is your surgeon. Did you feel completely comfortable with any of the surgeons you have seen?

I must admit I would be unhappy of surgery being offered to me 6 days after my first consultation.

What did your OH/husband think? Often they pick up things that we miss because we are just thinking about getting new boobs!

You will find load of information on this forum, it really is brilliant x

Hes thinking bigger is better, typically lol!!!
Yes I have decided against that company now as it concerned me that he wasn't very busy and didn't have a waiting list!!!!

Ive just found the consultation notebook on here and have downloaded that to go through all my information booklets and compare!!

As for the size thing you can see why im confused but if im honest what I felt most comfortable was 385-410cc so anything in that range id be happy!!

I did like Ms Maggi in transform, felt really at ease an like I could ask any questions and felt like she had a lot of time for me too!!!

Hi and welcome Hun, it's good you're having lots of consultations , have you tried a spire, bmi, Nuffield hospital for a consulation?

The big commercial clinics you will be assigned a Pcc (ultimately a sales women with no medical training what so ever) . Then assign you the surgeon with least procedures, earliest they can book you in unless you specifically ask for the surgeon that works for them.

Also make sure you look at each companies aftercare policy also.

Photos to show surgeons will work better than giving a rough. Cup size. X

Mr Liew is a BAAPS surgeon and I'm disappointed really in the short consultation he gave you. Being a BAAPS surgeon he should know better and have given more of his time, bbt if you wanted to go back and see him again them your next appointment would be free hun.

If you're in the Merseyside area and money isn't an issue I'd personally recommend Douglas McGeorge from Spire. He's what you might say... The cream of crop! Lol. He's amazing surgeon Charliee and is very highly respected by his peers also which speaks volumes doesn't it.

Don't 'settle' for anyone hun... Keep looking until you find 'the one' and if you are finding any surgeon cutting the consultation short when you still have questions sweetheart, do ask for more time. This is a BOG decision you're making hun and one that you're going to want to get right first time. So if you don't feel a surgeon is providing the service you're expecting, especially BAAPS surgeons who aren't only representing themselves as surgeon but also the BAAPS name, then let them know lovely because that's simply not good enough. Thanks you ladies, really appreciate all of the advice!! Quite liking transform if i'm honest they are currently top as I have friends that have been there and read some great reviews, but I am thinking of asking to see another surgeon there, have any of you done this before? Will the company be funny with me wanting to see another surgeon? There was nothing wrong with Ms Maggi, in fact, I really liked her and she made me feel comfortable, gave me a lot of time and encouraged questions, I just want to make sure I'm choosing the right one as I have read lots of reviews regarding other surgeons but cant find much on her work really...
I still have a couple more consultations booked elsewhere so not making any concrete decisions yet!!

Please, please, please don't rush into Transform hun. There are lots of women who have no complications and early post-op on this forum so have had no call to have dealings with them....yet! Take a read through my diary hun to get a REAL view of what can happen should you have a complication. Xx

Wow!! That definitely took some reading!! Sorry to hear everything you've been through also, sounds like you've had a rough ride, but I'm so impressed with how strong and brave you seemed through your ordeal, and how you fought for what you wanted!
Has most certainly given me food for thought, like I said a few other consults booked so nothing is set in stone yet! There is a lot to consider!!
Thanks for the advice!!

No problem Charleii... Like I said, on forums such as ours there are many early post-oppers who are just so super delighted to have boobs, but you hate to look beyond that and look at the big picture hun - good luck with the rest of your consultations and please let us know how they go. Xx
