Period and BA
I've just been checking out my menstural calendar and it looks like I might have my period on my BA date. Is that a problem?

Re: Period and BA
Shouldn't be but you'll have to wear pads, not a tampon i think, i would call and ask the nurse Jem but i know loads of girls have had their period on the same day x
Re: Period and BA
I think like Nads said Jemmy it is fine, but a call wont harm to confirm. xx

Re: Period and BA
I will do. I haven't received a pack from hospital with contact numbers etc so assume that will come in a few weeks and will give them a call to ask

Hi Jemmy,
Did you find out if it matters if you have your period when having your ba?? Mine is all over the place at the minute and I think I'm going to be on too? Not too keen :pale: xx

I'm sure it's fine and won't cause a complication

Re: Period and BA
I'm normally like clockwork but I think all the excitement of having new boobies has made me go all over the place! I don't get much pain but my boobs hurt when I'm on so I guess I'll have double pain!!! Oh well guess it will be worth it and like you say Jemmy at least the painkillers will help xx

Re: Period and BA
it won't be a problem hun, as long as you wear a towel as the GA can apparently cause toxic shock if wearing a tampon.
you'll be fine to wear them afterwards though.

Re: Period and BA
Do they provide towels at the hospital or should I take some with me?

Re: Period and BA
Probably best to take some with you Jemmy. If hospital towels are anything like hospital pants...
When I told my nurse I was on and wearing a tampon she said she could see if she could get me a pad, so they probably will have some. But just to be on the safe side! xx

Must be the curse of the August Girls. If that's the only bad thing to happen we'll all be thankful. I know what you mean about the signs though, I've got a swollen tummy and could bite someones head off lol

I shouldnt think it would be a problem, just annoying to have it on your BA day and it will be quite awkward trying to change etc x

Re: Period and BA
I know this isn't always advisable so please speak to your doctor first but if any of you are on the pill and you havn't been advised to stop taking it before your BA then if you carry on taking it without a 7 day break then you will avoid having your period. I did this when i went on hols once, never caused me any probs.

Re: Period and BA
you have to stop taking the pill Lenz, as it can increase risk of blood clot, at least thats what my surgeon has told me to do, stop taking a month before xx

He may have a point there! hehe. At least when they're sore next week it'll be for a worthwhile reason though!
