That's great you're feeling better Bizzy. I hope everyone isn't feeling too bad today.
Thanks for the progression pics ravenxwaves... It does take a while but I'm sure the end result will be awesome! X

Re: October Buddies
you're welcome Lisa dear.. and yes littlemissnewboobs (great name ) you really have to have a LOT of patience to go through with this!
i was told by the nurse at Dolan Park to keep wearing the big elastic body band all week, changing it every day, until my checkup but honestly, this morning i could NOT stand it anymore - its caused the deepest pressure ridges in my skin and soooo itchy!
so i've got my 32D extra high impact bra on from marks and the bra extenders, it just about fills the D cup so not bad.. still looking like torpedos though. first checkup tomorrow hopefully the stitches can come off
has anyone else been told to keep the stockings on all week too? i feel like i've been given the weirdest post surgery instructions!

Re: October Buddies
I was told to wear mine until my mobility was back to normal... With a toddler and a 10month old that was half hour after I got home so I haven't worn mine, if I had have been less mobile I would have though. Am feeling so much better today, I've been taking the vitaminC drink and multivitamin with selenium like my surgeon advised and I really think it's helping-no meds today so far :)
If anyone wants to have a look at my pics so far I've put a couple of pre/post op pics on picture trail. They still look very strange but I'm liking them more each day :) xxx

I too was advised to wear them but have been up and about so taken them off. Had no pain relief today just the twice daily anti inflamitry meds I was told too!
Has anyone got sensation back yet? One nipple has but not the other and really dry! I also think one boob has started to drop! Xx

Aww that's great news :) I'm starting to get nipple sensation back in both breasts, but the whole breast under the nipple is still numb so far... Probably a good thing as it means I don't feel the stitches yet... xx

Re: October Buddies
Glad everyone seems to be doing well, I was told to wear the stockings for 2 weeks constantly with no exceptions! I was also told I can't drive for 3 weeks even though I have an automatic. I can't not drive for 3 weeks! I have an appointment 2 weeks and a day post op that the office just booked for me and I've already cancelled it twice.
Has anyone driven yet? I don't want to go against my surgeons instructions but 3 weeks just sounds a bit excessive!
Hope everyone had a great weekend x

Re: October Buddies
It may be because of the type of surgery you had Lisa, I'd say go with what your surgeon has said because you never know how easy/hard the surgery was and you would hate for something to go wrong over just a few days... :)
I've only got small waterproof dressings over the stitches, but I have to wear my macom/sports bra for 6 weeks day and night then a further 6 weeks day only ! xxx

Re: October Buddies
I know!!!! Was surprised at first consultation when he said I could drive at a week post op, also could go back to the gym to do lower body/abs after two weeks!!!!! Whereas from reading and researching on here and net most girls can't go back to the gym for 6 weeks.
I think it's because I did a lot of exercise before my op and it has helped in my recovery - didn't have any painkillers apart from some for a headache monday evening ( just ached but not too bad it was as if I had over done it at the gym)

I haven't had it yet Gleaming but you're right, with the stockings and the driving it may be because I'm having an uplift too x

Re: October Buddies
With the stockings I had the inflatable cuffs on my legs instead as have an allergy to latex. Only had them on for a couple of hours as was moving legs to try and get comfortable in bed mon afternoon/evening.

Re: October Buddies
What are the stockings for anyway? Isn't it to reduce the risk of blood clots or dvt or something? X

Re: October Buddies
Yep the stockings are anti-embolic which basically means they put pressure on areas of your legs to stimulate blood flow when you are resting more than usual xxx
Ahh how exciting for you hun :) xxx

Re: October Buddies
Morning Ladies,
Blimey, I've not been on here for a few days and it seems like I've missed so much!!
How is everyone feeling???
I can't believe it's over three weeks since my op. I must sort out my picture trail.
Thanks for that link to the progress pictures Raven, that was interesting. Can't believe how high up those implants were to start with and how long it takes for them to settle!!
I'm still having a love hate relationship with mine at the moment. My left seems to have dropped a little more than the right. The right looks smaller than the left! Oh well, time will be the cure I am sure!
Just to let you know, I drove the car after two weeks, on instruction from my surgeon. The nurse at the clinic said they generally advise 1 week, but I did wait the full two weeks.
I have to say it hurt a little bit. I was fine from gears 1-4 but 5 and 6 were a little problematic. It made my muscle push the implant and I was tensing up before I put the car in gear. Now at 3 weeks it's fine, although we've got a big people carrier so it's a bit of a pain to look round to park, thank goodness for parking sensors!!
Hope everyone is feeling good. In just a few more days all the October buddies will have their boobies!!xx

Re: October Buddies
Balls i think i have a problem with my troublesome rightie! It seems to be developing loose skin underneath and the nipple whilst always lower than the right is starting to look like it is pointing downwards., still early days i guess 3 and half weeks and it has misbehaved before and come right again. All i am thinking is i am going to be in sports bras forever rarghhhhhhh!

Re: October Buddies
Amy,
It's rubbish the first few weeks. It would almost be better if they were bandaged up for 3 months so you couldn't see them at all and then there was a magic 'reveal' day when they were all healed and looking fabulous!! It would save all this worry about them looking weird.
When is your next check up?
Mine's on Friday so I am looking forward to getting the go ahead for non wired normal bras. Getting a bit fed up with the Macom!x

Re: October Buddies
Well, I don't have another check up booked but if I worry over anything I can just ring hospital and go see my consultant (nuffield).
At the moment I can't fault the staff and advice I've been given when I've rung to query something or worrying about things.

Re: October Buddies
Hi CAB ,i feel your pain with these bra's i am beginning to hate the sight of them. Next check up is at 6 weeks although i can go and see him anytime beforehand if i feel the need to. I don't think its worth it ATM though , there is nothing magically he can do and I am sure it will be a wait and see approach. I will email him today and just let him know i am a little concerned i think. It is still flipping sore too the left is perfect and very little pain at all. Just morning boob feeling but the right is definitely painful and feels horrible without a bra on.
