Re: October Buddies
I've got most of my things together - had to buy a small cabin case on wheels as I didn't want to be carrying anything when I come home tuesday morning.
Well my last day at work was yesterday and some of the girls were joking that I won't fit into my tunic tops due to my boobs but my tops are quite roomy.
Will be good to get to the gym tomorrow as haven't been for a while as not been feeling too well (stress of work and op) I do cx,ump and combat ( called the sunday triple 2.5 hrs) probably will ache on monday after the gym but will possibly take my mind off the pain after op!!! Well that's the plan

Hiya girls
Are you having your stitches out on Tuesday Bizzy? Oooh nipple shields with patterns like nipple tassels - can't imagine you will want to wave them about though....haha
Oooh Monday for you Rachij, I bet you're so excited! A cabin bag is a good idea, oh that sounds hard core! I'm a right couch potato, I've never been to a gym, exercise doesn't agree with me ha ha
I haven't got a thing yet! I've earmarked the v pillow from Argos to get but I think I'm putting it off a bit as if I get all my stuff together it will become even more real and then I really won't be able to sleep. I dreamt I had boobs last night, it was amazing but all my friends fell out with me as they said they were friends with my old boobs not my new ones- very strange!
I'm off to take the kiddies swimming shortly (I don't go in, my hubby goes in with the baby as I look like a boy in my cozzie - good bonding time for the hubby though) then tomorrow I'm going to be a godmother again yay! I have two godchildren already and I will have two more on Sunday. Very exciting!
Hope everyone has a fab weekend xx

Hiya lias6246,
We don't live too far away from each other I actually live in Stone but put my location as staffordshire as others might think I'm from other part of the country( as there is more than one stone!!)
Advice I could give you is to get a macom bra for after surgery as you only need to know the back size and not cup size. I got two one in a 32 back and one in 34 back. Yeah last gym session tomorrow, hopefully can start back with lower body exercise two weeks after op- will ask on monday

Re: October Buddies
Ohh I know where stone is, I'm actually near Armitage but thought people would know more where Lichfield is.
Thank you, I've got to get some hot and cold packs like Bizzy suggested and someone else suggested getting a bra way too big to accommodate swelling. I didn't realise you didn't need to know the cup sizes of a macom, the surgeon is providing 2 z bras but I don't know what size they are - I think I need to find out then get bras bigger and also ask what size Macom to get - I assume they're small medium and large?

Re: October Buddies
I know where armitage is as drove past it on way to work at birmingham airport also used to work in rugeley.
Ohhhh, that's good your surgeon is providing two bras - my surgeon just said get a comfortable sports bra in a 34 band I think to accomodate the swelling.
The macom bras come in band sizes so I would get the size you are now and one bigger ( type mybreast in the discount code box and get 15% off) works out to be around £66 for two plus postage with the discount

Re: October Buddies
Rachij, I had a little bag on wheels, was great.... Done just the job. Mind you looked like I was going away for weekend.
I can possibly go back to gym at 3-4 weeks, but can't do my lifting or boxing til 6 weeks.
I love the gym, go most days. I also do long distance running. Which I really am missing........
But will soon get back to it..... Love my fitness.........
Lias, he macoms come in small, medium and large, I got medium. I'm 34 back. They got an adjustment too Hunni for swelling. Although at mo I'm in a 36dd m and s sports, zip front bra. It's gorgeous.........very snug..........
Your new best friend will be your ice pack, and the heat wheatie/pack...... I would honestly be lost without mine.
Oh and he v.pillow.
Another little tip too, try and get a small travel pillow, I was finding with sleeping propped my neck when I was sleeping was going to one side, giving me a bit if neck ache. This will stop your neck wobbling around and gives bit if support, loving mine. No neck ache......... Got mine from matalan 8.00....... Worth every penny.....
Also when you get your macom, at checkout put my breast into promotional code box for 15% off.........

Re: October Buddies
Oh my, can't imagine long distance running...I can't even run the length of myself!!
Saying that I did start trying to run about 6 months ago. I prefer spinning! Quite looking forward to getting back to it all. If anything it gets me away from the kids for a couple of hours!!
Yes the Macom sizes are on their webpage, 34 is Medium. They're really quick as well. Mine turned up a few days after ordering it. They are quite true to size. I've been wearing mine yesterday and today and so far so good!!
I with you on the travel pillow too. I used mine for the first couple of days and if I'm napping downstairs! Think it was worth buying as I think I'll use it next time we go on holiday!
Lias, it might also be worth taking a pillow with you to put on your chest for the journey home. I didn't take one and the car journey was a little uncomfortable as I was holding the seat belt away from me the whole way!x

Hey bizzy,
Bet you're going crazy not being able to get to the gym!!!!! I know I will be but I have a trainer once a week and have told her about my BA and also what my surgeon said about getting back to the gym after two weeks just doing lower body and ab work, so I think she'll sort stuff out that I can do until can get back to weights and normal classes ( pump/combat).

Re: October Buddies
Yeah drives me nuts not working out.
My hubby is my trainer, so at least he knows what I can cant do. He came to all consultations too.
My first port of call is the lovely exercise bike......... Only like the bike when spinning on it........ But I am listening............... She says......................
It won't be long though, my first week nearly gone.........
CAB, I couldn't run a mile when first started but now I've been running about ten years so I do quite long distances..... My hubby is a runner nd was when I met him so he got me into all the fitness malarkey....... If you can't beat em join em they say........... I love it all now...... I'm an addict, all my friends say I'm nuts........ But I do think it's my release away from having the business......... I need it........... Can be stressful...
I'm definately taking my travel pillow when I go away, had never used one before.... It's been a godsend..........

I used to work at Birmingham airport too Rachij, well the cargo airport many moons ago....
I feel you CAB, I'm doing a car boot next Sunday as my mate wants to do one and she hasn't got a car so I said we could go together just for some time out from the kids!
Thanks for the suggestions ladies I really appreciate it. These are the things you never think about! I'm a 36 so may get a medium and a large. And what a good idea for the travel pillow!

And bizzy, you get the shield things from mothercare and they create a seal around your nipple so I hope they work. A really good nipple cream is llamasol (may be spelt totally wrong) I swore by it xx

Re: October Buddies
Lias, you'll probably end up taking far too much stuff into the hospital. I took a bag full, and was too sick to read the magazines. For the life of me I have no idea why I took two pairs of pyjama's! You'd think I was stopping over for a couple of weeks.
Whenever I go anywhere I always end up taking too many pairs of pants! I think I have a fear of forgetting them!
Had a busy day today, Dad came over for lunch so I did a roast, with Hubby's help of course. Bit tired now and considering a little nap!
Early bath (still on the annoying shallow ones) and into PJ's for a night of Strictly and other rubbish on TV I think!!x

Lias, That was it Hunni, Limassol cream, I forgot what friend said it was called....... I'm going to ask next tues before I put anything on. Definately getting the shields. May be e.bay as not going into town at mo. thanks for that.
CAB, you do end up taking too much, I just thought if for any reason I had. To stay another night. 2 pyjamas was funny though. I took a pair and stayed in the dreaded gown, but I didn't get back to room until 9.50pm. So by time I was less dopey, I couldn't be bothered.......
I'm off to my mums tonight going to take a Chinese around and got a film, " we're the millers" could do with a good chuckle. Oh and x.factor...... Can't forget that....
Going to go for the shallow bath in a mo.... Can't wait to have a good old soak, and froth my Pitts........ I'm dreaming about it. Hated he flannel wash. Felt like blooming frank off shameless........
Have. Great evening all. Hope I can sleep.........xxx

Better too many CAB than too little! Would my iPad be a good idea as the hospital has wifi so I can watch stuff on it...wow a roast after 7 days post that's impressive! To be fair if you would have had to stay in an extra day you may have needed the extra jammies!
That's it bizzy not llamasol ha ha I've got llamas on the brain!
Hiya Jo, good luck for your competition. We are on the same day yay!! X

Lias, the ipad will probably be a good idea. Even if you don't get to use it, it could keep whoever is with you out of mischief whilst you're in surgery.
Welcome back Fitness Jo. You can put your date in the calendar entries thread on the home page then everyone will be able to wish you well on the big day!
Good luck with the competition and the fake tan removal!!
Bizzy, if you can't find Lamisol then Mothercare do their own brand of nipple cream which I used when feeding my youngest and that was quite good. My skin didn't like the lamisol stuff!
I'm with you on the soaping up your armpits...don't think mine have ever been so gross!!x

Have any of you ladies managed to shave your pits yet? I can ask hubby to do it if I can't do it myself but can you lift your arms a little bit xx

Just realised my last post looks like I've got smelly gross armpits!! Hehe! They're not smelly, just really hairy! Can't lift my arms high enough to shave them. Also where everything is swollen you can't really get to them anyway!!
Just have to remember it's all for the greater good!!x

I'm quite lucky..... For one thing and that's I only need to shave about once in every couple of months, I don't grow hair..... Infact when I did waxing at college with my friend and we did the leg wax, she told the tutor to wax me would be waste of wax and asked if she could pluck me.......... Blooming cheek........... Well I got to have something going for me...........
Changed into my macom tonight, had to wash my other bra. Well I'm not sure it's as comfy as my other I had on. My nips feel more sensitive in the macom at mo. must be the material........ Going to stay with it tonight, until my other dry and will swap back if I don't feel comfy.......
Might be just me.......

Hi Everyone! Havn't been on here for so long... But it's 16 days til my op!! Very nervous. Get my bloods 23rd then op 29th. Having 290 unders in Aberdeen.
My surgeon said to take four weeks off work, I'm a nurse, but has anyone gone back sooner?
Also driving? I've even told four weeks?
I've still not been invoiced yet for the surgery or has anyone just paid on the day?
I'm at the moment 34a and 5 5" 9st.. Been told to bring along C and D sports bra, I will be happy to fill either!!!
So scared and sometimes wonder what the hell I'm doing as I am on my own with a young child!
Helped a lot to read other stories and thanks for any help!xxx
