Re: October Buddies
Good luck tomorrow! I thought my message had sent earlier but obviously not!
The silicone strips are called cica-care, I bought mine off amazon, prices are anything from £20 upwards!
Less than two weeks till mine now! Have a job interview tomorrow and my pre op Tuesday and get my amazing partner home on Sunday! 7months has dragged I want him home now!

Re: October Buddies
Well, it's the dreaded day three! I'm actually feeling ok. Struggling to not do stuff around the house. I'm so used to being busy. I feel guilty not doing anything and hate leaving Hubby to get on with it all!
On the plus side I managed to get a half decent nights sleep last night; first one since last Thursday. Finally think I have managed to create a comfortable pillow mountain.
I've got my Nurses appointment on Friday to get everything checked over. I'm wearing a binder, no bra at the moment, but my skin is so itchy. I think it must be where it's stretched as I seem to remember feeling like this when I was pregnant and having an itchy tummy!
Even with all the post surgery sickness, lack of sleep, itching and general discomfort it has all been worth it. Just looking forward now to seeing the results and in a couple of months time going shopping!!
Bizzy, I hope you are feeling ok. I'm looking forward to hearing how it all went!x

Re: October Buddies
Today was today was my final appointment before surgery
:(
I had some weird discharge, so I saw a breast specialist who said it put me at a slightly higher risk of infection, but he doesn't see why I shouldn't the surgery and my gp said the same this am.....however the surgeon doing my ba said no! I'm gutted :(
Ringing other clinics now to find out if they will or not :( xxxx

Re: October Buddies
How did you previously smoking cause a discharge from your breast? I don't think I've ever heard of that before.
If the breast specialist said you're ok then I would think you should be ok somewhere else. Maybe your surgeon is being over cautious.
Since they've cancelled on you, you'll surely be entitled to a full refund. Which clinic were you using?x

Hey,
It's normally with older woman. But I smoked for ten years before giving up! It's never happened before so was really worried!
Anybody heard of Mr Adrian Richards? I am seeing him tomorrow now! He's done a few of my friends!
I was with harley medical group! Was worried when I had seen the bad feedback on here but had already paid! I also can't now found my previous surgeon on the bAaps register!

Re: October Buddies
Sorry missed bits out! They want to charge me admin fees and pre op checks which I have said I am not happy with at all because it's their fault I can't have this done! (Bad communication between staff members meant my surgery could have been canceled last week instead of leaving me a whole extra week!)xx

Re: October Buddies
I think Adrian Richards is quite well thought of. Is he part of aurora clinics? If he's the one I'm thinking of then if you go on their website there's loads of information and video clips of him in action. Might be worth a look.x

Re: October Buddies
Just read the last bit....
I wouldn't be happy with that either. It is their decision not to operate, so they should refund in full; however have you checked all of the T & C's.
Just checked online, Adrian Richards is who I was thinking of. Have a look at this webpage, on the home page there's a tab for video gallery.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Good luck with the refund. You should write a letter immediately documenting all the things that have happened, just to get the ball rolling down the official channels!
I'm feeling surprisingly fine. I was really worried that having 'unders' would knock me for six, but apart from lack of sleep for a couple of nights and a pretty hideous reaction to the GA I've been ok. The GA made me really sick. I've put the full story in the Surgery Stories section, but safe to say I wasn't up to much most of the day on Saturday!!
I've got my first post op check up on Friday and hopefully they'll clear me have a shower etc and I will feel completely human again. It is weird having boobs though. They are still a bit like strange 'add ons' that have just appeared, but are not actually part of me!!x

Cab, I'm glad you're not feeling too bad on the dreaded day 3! You rest up and let hubby fuss over you.. You can always pay him back and let him have a few weeks rest soon!
Sorry to hear about them cancelling your surgery - that's terrible! I've watched some videos with Adrian Richards and he seems to know his stuff - I hope you get a full refund! X

Re: October Buddies
They do have t&cs but because of circumstances they are going to speak to head office. As I had informed them I had an issue they are the ones now in the wrong!
I had done some previous reading about him and some friends who have had their surgery with him.
Oh I'm pleased you are back on track and healing! How exciting for you! I must say I am a bit jealous!
Must be hard not to shower! Although lucky it's colder outside now so more layers.... Hairy armpits and all xx

Re: October Buddies
Ooh don't talk about hairy armpits!! Mine are truly horrendous....however as you say it's colder now and since I can't actually lift my arms that high no one will have the pleasure of having to actually see them anyway!!
You'll get yours sorted soon I am sure. Some surgeons are more cautious than others. That's evident when you speak to different ones about sizing, so when it comes to a complication they may have backed out through inexperience. A more experienced surgeon may have dealt with it before and know all about it!x

Re: October Buddies
Mine are equally as bad.....having my partner away has turned me into a lazy sod!
I didn't really get sizing options with him he just said that was the size etc, he also didn't measure me! And as I said I can't find him on baaps! Xxxx

Haha....you'll have a forest there soon!!
Where's your partner been? I noticed on here he'd been away for a while.
My surgeon isn't BAAPS registered either, but he is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery, which is the other thing to check out.x

Oh that's ok then :) thank you for all being so supportive.
I never really clicked with my previous surgeon how all the girls have said they have, I just thought he was a bit of a wet blanket but kind of knew what he was talking about!
He's been in Afghanistan! Gets back Sunday! And get the keys to our new place on Friday! So excited xx

Re: October Buddies
Oooh how exciting. 'The Mr' home, new house, new boobs...it's all happening for you.
It's rubbish when they're away. I had all that last year when my Hubby was there for 6 months! They seem to be home for a bit then off somewhere else on exercise or adventure training!! Always something going on!
Hopefully all this with your surgeon may have been a bit of a blessing in disguise. You'll probably be much happier once you've met someone else and you need to have complete trust that they know what they're doing to you!x
