cost of blood test at GP anyone
Hi all
Little update, got my holidays cleared at work anf my reop is def looking like the 14th Oct, however my surgeon before then needs bloods and MRSA swabs, so instead of me travellling all the way to hospital he is happy for me to go to my GP and have them done there and then my GP will send them to the lab.
He is going to mail me a list of the bloods I need done so that my GP/Nurse knows
Called the surgery today and the receptionists are terrible there and say I need to call back and speak to a GP to find out the price which my surgeon said should be between £10 and £30
So just wondered if any of you girls have ever had to pay for a blood test through the NHS
Thanks all

Re: cost of blood test at GP anyone
hi for my first BA my surgeon wanted bloods and mrsa swabs however I think its more the hospitals that want the mrsa swab, but I could be wrong.
This is a reop and my surgeon has moved to Manchester and I had my BA done in Glasgow so instead of me going all the way down to him for him to do my bloods he said he is happy for my GP to do them then send him the results to save me a trip, but I was told there could be a cost but my GP is just going to run them FOC (free of charge)
When is your surgery xx

Re: cost of blood test at GP anyone
That's cool, I've never had to pay for anything from my GP or for prescriptions
Re: cost of blood test at GP anyone
we dont normally pay anything for our health care but as i was requesting blood tests for private surgery and not a medical problem then there is normally a charge but they are going to do them free as they are just routine bloods x
