Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
The tape comes up to my neck and is so itchy and sweaty...I don't understand the need for
It to be so high up! Tempted to trim it slightly...although having them removed on Friday so only another day and 2 nights to go!

Bear with it, you'd never forgive yourself if you took if off and it had a detrimental effect.
Only two sleeps and it'll be off!! It's got to be worth it for the fabulous boobies you'll have soon!!x

Ohhhh sweetie, the dressings are just awful aren't they. I had terrible blisters from mine they were so sore. But its only for a short while hun, so if you can bare with it, that would be the best thing to do Dillydally.
Big hugs for ya hun, 'cos its bloody horrible when the dressings make you so uncomfortable

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
I had my dressings removed today. They were so sore for me and they were only the white sticking plaster placed over the steri strips. They've made my skin red and have actually chaffed my skin under one if my boobs. I had to do a double take cos i thought i had 2 scars! Can't begin to imagine how you're feeling having so much tape but sending big hugs xx not long til Friday xx

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
Hey ladies
Was reading about the sticky bandages, like I'm gonna take mine off tomorrow, but can some one tell me how they take this off?by pulling it off?,as I have sticky tape all over the show, I can only see the nipple area, and this has been so uncomfortable to have,
Just wanting to know if I shed go prepared for pain, or there might be some magic way to take this off with no pain,
Lololol..if its pulled, I will be taking my pain killers with me..lololol
Xxx

As it's a dressing, only a nurse should be removing it. Please don't try yourself!
Have you not got an appointment with your nurse Hun? X

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
It probably will sting a bit hun, but just brace yourself... I'm having my sticky dressings and stitches removed at D16 post op and I am dreading it !! I'm sure they will have fused with my body by then... lol. Just think though, for about a minutes discomfort you'll be at the next stage of your healing process :) xxx

Lololol...yah thanks, its really this stage I'm dreading so much, as its glued down for real, this doesn't move for nothing in this world, lololol
Tomorrow will be the first time that I see them for real,
Just really thought there would be some kind of product that they would put to take this off...not gonna enjoy this for a bit no

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
Aww when I had mine off they were starting to come loose anyway ..it didn't hurt but I think because it's in your head that it will be hurt you expect it... I was a bit cheeky and an hour before I went in I did loosen them myself just because I was worried they would be whipped off!! Xx

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
When i take off super stuckdown dressings i use irripod saline to loosen them and i also have a can of magic spray that dissolves the glue. If its hurting tell them , there are ways of getting off the most sticky of dressings without hurting people . Good luck i am sure the thought of it will be worse than the actual whipping them off

Hey, whwn mime were removed last week it didn't hurt just pulled plus the steristrips came with the dressing in one lot even though they had to pick the last few off , they were ready to come off themselves.

I must admit I was planning on taking a paracetamol/ibruprofen in the carpark before my appointment... is that bad ?!? Saying 'in the carpark' does make it sound bad... lol xx

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
It doesnt hurt any more than pulling off a plaster. Plus theres the added bonus that you might still be numb! The build up is worse than the actual event. With mine, the nurse just took a pair of tweezers and boom, done.
What was worse was trusting hubby to change my steri strips daily for the following week!

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
It'll be fine hunny, the nurses are gentle and use an antiseptic type wipe to help ease it off the skin.
It's all over and done pretty quick x

Re: Sticky tape dressings unbearable!!
Hello ladies, just to say that I got the bandages off yesterday, wasn't so bad, as I was sweating, actually did a big fine for nothing,
I finally saw my ladies, they are stunning, but one I feel super sorry for as she is bigger and has a horrible bruise shame , seems as I have to now monitor the boob and see if she doesn't swell up more, was told just to put ice and see if she stays soft... Scary...
But for rest I can have a shower finally, maybe the ladies are just wanting a bath to than feel better, gonna go for it now in the morning..
still with a tight sensation, but have read on other topics that it is normal, glad I found this forum as this has been a life saver:hugme:
