My one week post op check up...I CAN SHOWER!!!
Hi girls,
So today I had my first post op check up with a nurse at BMI Three Shires just to have my incisions checked and the dressing changed. Finally got to take of the Macom bra which I have literally been welded into for the past week. Getting that microphone tape off absolutely killed, even though the nurse was gentle! She cleaned everything then popped some iodine strips on the incisions before putting some micropore tape back over. Everything looks as it should which is a relief! My boobs are still sat high although the right is dropping, but the left is still firmly in the same place it was last week! The sides and under part of my boobs are numb....so strange! And the bottom portion of my nipples are numb but the top part feel overly sensitive. My skin is a little bit like a ballon, stretched and shiny!!!! But aside from all this I am really pleased so far!
Can't believe this time last week I was in hospital! I have to change my dressings with the microporous tape I was given every three days for the next 5 weeks! This is just Mr Richards advice to his patients, I know every surgeon is different.
The main thing is girls.......I CAN HAVE A SHOWER!!!!! So I'm off to lather up right now!
My picture trail has been update today should anyone want I have a look :-)

That's the same as I had to do with the tape! Was horrible, by the 5th week I was so uncomfortable cos my skin was so itchy and dry where it hadn't been able to breathe! It will send you nutty but all worth it! Glad you're healing well x

Re: My one week post op check up...I CAN SHOWER!!!
Thanks Pr1ncessmummy! I am definitely happy with how they are looking so far!
Blueeyedsoul - I have just found the Macom VERY restrictive which I know it has to be, but still! Te band was very tight but this could be due to swelling and been given a 32 when maybe I needed 34. One thing is for sure, your boobs ain't going nowhere in that bra, but I'm glad I didn't buy it as it was included in my surgery. The shock absorbers are much more comfy, but this is just my opinion!
Thanks Nicole.....I do think the tape will drive me insane!!!!

Glad all has gone well Selena - ENJOY THAT SHOWER!!! Xx
Re: My one week post op check up...I CAN SHOWER!!!
Thanks Cookie! It was by far the best shower I have ever taken! I did find that washing myself was like a new experience as I'm not used to having big boobs I was having to manoeuvre my arms around them to wash properly! I'm sure I'll get used to it! xxx

Theyre very alien at first whilst they're solid rockets, but they do become a part of you as their healing progresses.
Alien or not though.... I bet you still enjoyed them! Xx
