Had my 2 week post op check up
Hey ladies, I had my 2 week check up today with my surgeon and all is well and I'm allowed to moisturise and massage my scars now, another 4 weeks in sports bras and no swimming or baths submerging my scars until I'm six weeks.
My surgeon was running quite late so when I saw him it was for less than 5 minutes. It was also my first day back at work and I can honestly say it was awful (thankfully nothing to do with boobies) so after a stressful day and a 45 min drive to the clinic I asked a few questions but forgot to ask him about sleeping propped up. Do you think it would be ok to sleep normally now- I don't think I will feel like sleeping on my sides anytime soon, would just like to sleep flat as my back is starting to feel it! I also forgot to ask him about the ASC cover so will be emailing his secretary as Spire didnt really help me with this query. I'm not due to see him now until October.
Overall I've had a great journey and couldn't be happier. My boobs have started to soften and taken a better shape (uploaded a pic at 13 days if anyone wanted a peek of the change). Not experienced any pain throughout just discomfort and they are now starting to feel a lot like mine and not so alien like! I will try and post my surgery story soon as pre BA reading others on here really helped to reassure me for my day.
Sorry to ramble on! X

Glad all was ok, your avi looks fab.
Sorry I'm not sure about the sleeping propped up but would be interested in the answer as I'm going to struggle with that I think, have you ever woke up in the night on your side or flat on your back? X

Thank you ladies :)
Princess I've been lucky and never woken up during the night- I always wake up in the morning in the exact same position with a stiff back! I'm usually a side sleeper but don't think I would feel comfortable going back to that at the moment! When I do I plan on using my v pillow! X

You'll be fine trying to sleep 'on your side' now if you feel your swelling has reduced babe.
But do listen to your body. If you feel any aches or discomfort then its best to go back to square one and try again a few lays later until it feels better for you.
You may find if you use your v-pillow to hug, creating a gap for your boob to drop into and a pair of fluffy socks in your cleavage you might find it more helpful with the transition.
Glad everything else went well babe. Xx

I had to do 2wks propped up to reduce the swelling, so you should be ok lying flat now. I was given the all clear for side sleeping too, but my body doesn't want to yet, it hurts so bad in between if I do. Had one too many last Friday and side slept, and was paying for it the next day, so totally listen to your body on that one.

hi hun,
i had a quick peek at your day 13 pic, and wow they look amazing!!
i'm at day 13 now and don't think i've come as far as you yet, although my recovery has been really good so far too.
i have a check up with the nurse tomorrow but don't get my dressings removed for another week.. maybe by that time i will have caught up :)
anyway glad all is going so well for you :)

Sleeping lying down is ok now, only have to be propped up whilst there's swelling. Glad everything's coming along nicely for you, would love a peek at your progress pics can you send me your details again , deleted info in error when clearing my messages. XXX
