Re: June Buddies
I went with Mr Sulaiman (sp?). I saw him a couple of years ago when I first went for a consultation, and he immediately put me and hubby at ease. When I went for my consultation this time round it was a no brainer. I know I should have 'shopped around', but gut instinct overruled! He assured me we'd get a natural, not too big look, as I just want to balance out my body shape.
My biggest worry on the day is how long I'm kept waiting before surgery! I dont do too well when I'm that hungry! Thinking about having an extra meal at 11pm the night before so its not too bad!! Silly I know, but if Im worrying about the petty things, it keeps the mind off the bigger picture!

Eeek! Just had my call from the hospital confirming my admission time!! 7am! Asked the nurse and she said law of averages means I should get an AM surgery!! The only other stuff she said was all in the confirmation pack, no jewellary, no nail varnish, dont eat.
Had to try really hard not to come out of the quiet room in the office grinning like a loon!!

Re: June Buddies
Haha, love it! I imagine the nurses are used to having a ward full of grumpy hungry women!
I am OTT organised for the day! I even have a whiteboard up in the living room with a list of cans and cants, stuff to pack, etc! Just need to do a food shop and 'boob proof' the house so nothing is above elbow height! Oh, and put a bunch of Buffy re-runs on my Playbook so I've got some company for the night! Then its just a case of the surgery itself, woo!

woohoooo nearly june!!
so i just tried my macom on for the first time after i ordered it weeks ago, and its not very comfy
i wore it for half an hour and had red marks on my sternum (i have very sensitive skin) from the band where it does up in the middle.
and also its a right pain to do all those hooks up....
will be having a look for sportsbras tomorrow..

Re: June Buddies
I think they provide the paper pants! On my list I've got nightwear, entertainment (ipod, kindle etc), meds and bras, along with the usual gaff, toothbrush, wetwipes.
Blue, get to M&S for a zip front, its super soft and comes low enough so it wont hit your scars.
Less than 48hrs

Re: June Buddies
Sunday 2nd! Heading to Bromsgrove Travelodge tomorrow eve, we're about 1hr30 away, but its saved a lot more money paying an extra night at the hotel and not have to get up at stupid oclock than for the inclusive transport! I think hubby is more nervous than me at the moment, throwing out a lot of 'what ifs'!

Re: June Buddies
been chatting to some post op girls, apparently the macom fits really differently after surgery, so fingers crossed! will hang onto it anyway, as so many girls swear by it, but will be heading into m&s tomorrow to find some softer ones as well x
ooh charlii and halo you must be so excited, its so close for you now!! x

Re: June Buddies
Hey June girlies, it's finally here!
Good luck to all the girls this week especially, there's quite a few of you! No more waiting!
It's been an interesting few days for me; I've essentially had to rebook my surgery with a different surgeon/clinic due to 1) concerns over who my actual surgery contract was with 2) surgery administrator not being forthcoming when I requested explicit T&C's after checking through my paperwork and finding it actually to be far too broad, vague and generic 3) speaking with an ex-forum member who has had a problematic revision surgery with him.
It's been inconvenient to say the least having to postpone leave by a week, reorganise logistics last minute and all the mental prep with that goes with having a certain date/expectation in mind but I couldn't confidently go ahead with those type of concerns. So rebooked with the surgeon/clinic that were my second choice, on the 30th June, after dashing up to see him for one last further consultation this week. So only just made it into June Buddies still! xx
