Re: June Buddies
hi ladies!!
so i had a great appointment with my surgeron today, forgot quite how amazing he is!!!
first of all the nurse was sent home ill but my pcc emailed me and said she could take blood pressure and pass it on to the nurse.
so i went to see my surgeon, and first of all discussed sizes etc with him. i explained i had tried on the 255 (one of the ones he had recommended the first time) and i really liked the look of them, but might prefer the fullness of the high profile 265s, if it was ok to go slightly narrower than your bwd.
so we had a whole discussion about the look i wanted to achieve, and he said he could see i was quite clued about the whole thing, and then we agreed on natrelle round trf 265cc!! so excited!! he said this would give me a really great result that would suit my figure!
he mentioned again that there wasnt much difference to a 295 and that no one had ever regretted going bigger, but i did say that was too big for me. and i asked him between the 265 full profile and the 255 mod profile which would he recommmend etc, and so we decided on the 265 full!
i also asked him about sports bras etc, i already have a macom and for another sportsbra he reckons i should get a cheap one from asda or something with same back size but one cup size up to allow for swelling. because i have the bra extenders that is prob what i'll do.
i asked about the schedule on the day, and he said i should speak to my pcc about it, sometimes there is something they can do.
he was so reassuring the whole time, it was great!
i don't need to stop taking the pill, and i don't even need to take out my helix (top of the ear) piercing, this will just be taped over on the day! how great!
i asked him about post of wound care and appointments and all that sort of stuff.
and numbing cream i can just ask the nurses for on the day. its called emula or something like that, and lasts for about 45minutes, so the nurses should put it on shortly before you go down to theatre.
so my pcc said she can request that i'm quite early in the schedule, and she'll say i'm an "anxious patient" as that sometimes helps!
tbh my pcc is brilliant so am hoping she can weedle this for me, fingers crossed!
think thats it for now, if i remember anything else i'll post it :) x

Re: June Buddies
oh and he loved my rice sizers which i had brought with me, thought they were really professional and asked if he could take a picture of them because i had made them so well lol!!!!
for anyone who is wondering i made them as per the description in one of the stickies here!
the only thing you can't really simulate are the difference in profiles, but he was impressed by the bit of cardboard for the bwd!

Re: June Buddies
I know what you mean Vix, there are defo moments of am I really doing this?! What if what if what if?!! As in if things go wrong?!! But have to remember how many girls have gone through this and are so pleased with their result! We deserve to feel good about ourselves, we've done our research, chosen good surgeons, and plenty of people go through this surgery every day and its all for the better. But there are defo moments of OMG I'm letting someone take a scalpel to me!! It's nerves and excitement isn't it? I would say generally though I feel a bit like "lets do this!!" (So mostly impatient!!!) Which bit are you most nervous or excited about? Xx
Really pleased you're feeling great Ruth, its really reassuring! Out of 10, how much you recommend the whole procedure???!! :-) xx

Re: June Buddies
nervous about it all eddy, sometimes it's the thought of what could go wrong then it's the pain. I worry about healing too. but then I think life is short and we should enjoy our bodies while we can and it's something I have always wanted to do so it must be right
today is an excited day especially in this lush weather. just want to stick on a gorgeous bikini top now with something to fill it! lol
so glad your happy Ruth. good for you babe xx

Re: June Buddies
It won't be long hun til you can fill those bikini's, once we've healed we can flaunt them every time the sun is out! And it is about wanting this and it being right, we should make a list of all the things we'll be able to wear that we can't right now, to help whenever those nerves kick in. Top of my list for the summer has to be a strapless dress!! Being able to wear all those 'unwearable' things in the future, for the rest of our lives, is gonna be so worth the temporary pain!! Bring on the bikini shopping! :-) xx

Re: June Buddies
ha yeah. This weather is torturous! topless sunbathing will never be the same! I'm so conscious of that now I know my op is around the corner. its so pathetic when I look at what I have!! so I hope it's like this in June during our recovery:)
I think for me I can't wait to be able wear backless dresses! stick on boobs goodbye-although they always used to peel off, could never get them to stick on!! ha.
lots of flaunting ahead lol!!

Haha! Topless full stop will never be the same again!! Me too, I hate what I have, thing is so many of the girls you see in Mags, TV who have amazing boobs have had BA's that's why they all look so good! Not many girls have naturally great boobs, we all need a bit of help improving what we have!! Nice sunny days will be great, maybe our prep should include a few sun dances! Ah yes backless dresses, that's so going on the list!! :-) xx

It would be like the Linx advert! Mayhem everywhere! haha! It's funny, I read somewhere that a significant % of men would opt for surgery, moobs can be an issue too! :-)
Not quite ready, I still need to do some shopping like crop tops, it's gonna be weird shopping for clothes I've never shopped for before! Good weird though! What about you, much left on your list of things to get? When is your pre-op?
oh look, I'm an active member, when did that change?! Does that mean I'm officially obsessed with boobs?!! :-)

Re: June Buddies
I wouldn't worry actually hun, pre-op is just the final appt, usually a few weeks before, with a nurse to take blood sample, check weight, blood pressure that type of thing, but not all hosp/clinics do it. For example, my surgeon gave me the option of two hospitals, one had a policy of having a pre op appt the wknd before and the other didn't. So I've actually opted for the second as I won't have time to go to the hosp to have the pre-op! (sounds a little careless, but the hospital knows what they're doing, if they don't insist on it, then I'm not going to take time out to go again).
I think the first shopping experience maybe bit of a shock! :-) What size are you going from and to? xx

I'm 34b now and hoping to be a double d, I don't want to go much bigger than that. I'm having 375overs. how about you?
I'm glad you said not all hospitals do it. I'm going through the Nuffield, I haven't heard many girls talk about 0having hospital so maybe that's why I haven't heard about it not doing pre op? who are you going with xx

DD are going to be great, they're gonna fills those bikini's nicely! Flaunt away!! :-)
I'm going to Holly House in Essex/London border, it does seem like each hosp have differing policies. I'm currently very empty D's, actually might even be a C, but hoping for some pert C cups! I've lost weight in the last year and my boobs have disappeared, it's all loose skin mostly and not attractive at all! Have you ever seen There's Something about Mary?! it's like the old lady in it!!! haha!! xx
