Swollen on left side of stomach???
I just had a quick shower from the waist down haha and noticed that my
left side is really swollen! Its really soft, like theres fluid inside,
so probs water retention. Does anyone else have this? Im 3 days post op,
I rang transform and they said its quite normal cos of the antibiotics
but im still a bit worried!

Re: Swollen on left side of stomach???
A swollen stomach post-op is VERY common babe. You may find it more commonly referred to as the 'Buddha belly' here.
It does eventually go down, surgeons have told me its related to the GA though rather than anti-biotics. Nothing at all to be concerned about though Sarah. Its not nice I know, but it won't stay like that and it'll settle down soon. Xx

Oh good! I was hoping youd reply! You seem like the font of all knowledge! Haha. Im just worried cos its like jelly! Its not like just a bloated stomach. I had that before but its literally like wobbling when I walk its gross! Its sore when I prod it too! Is that normal??
Ill never forgive myself if I get a reaction from this op! Im very dramatic btw hahaha

My Buddah Belly was awful for about a week. I could feel the fluids wooshing around and it wasn't the nicest feeling x It will get better though, so don't worry. Lots of fluids and gentle walking may help x

Yeah I could feel it swishing around and it was sore. Started on one side then spread across all of my belly, it looked really weird and uneven. Please dont worry hun it will pass x

Re: Swollen on left side of stomach???
I have terrible buddha belly and every day it gets bigger and bigger... my bowels are so slow since the op and I havent 'been' since last Monday!! Everything I have eaten since my op is trapped inside (which being easter is a whole heap of crap) and its getting more and more uncomfortable every day... I am in a lot of discomfort from it...I look frigging pregnant and I have been trying to keep eating to encourage it to keep moving but that hasnt worked and now I feel so bad I think I am going to have a very light diet over the next couple of days to see if that helps alongside a butt load of senna capsules!!!

Re: Swollen on left side of stomach???
Have you tried taking some Senna 5stonedown? If you have and its helping any then a trip to the chemist will help babe. Speak with the chemist and they're qualified to 'prescribe' something a little stronger to help you go if need be hun. X
Re: Swollen on left side of stomach???
Yeah I have a prescription of it already!! I was given it when I left hospital.. I have been taking it every night.... nothing yet. It worked last time for me... just hoping something will happen soon! I have slow bowels at the best of times and I find cardio exercise helps me to go but obviously I wont be doing any of that!!

Awww I hope you go soon gorgeous what I meant was you could ask your chemist to prescribe something stronger for you to take alongside the senna to help you hun. Xx
Re: Swollen on left side of stomach???
I think if nothing happens tomorrow I am gonna have to sort something out! I'm more mobile than I was and I managed a short walk today so I will continue to keep walking and take the senna and if nothing changes I will go to the chemist tomorrow afternoon... just feel like the surgeon put a plug in my intesines while she was in there!!!
