Swollen ribs and stomach
Help, I'm worried. I'm two days post uplift/implants and have a sore and really swollen stomach and rib area. I'm hoping it's just fluid but am scared as I've done a bit of light walking
today. Other than that everything feels fine and my temp is ok xx

Re: Swollen ribs and stomach
Hi,
You've had a big op so the sore /swollen ribs can be expected, the swollen tummy aka Buddha Belly is an after effect of the GA and painkillers. Drink plenty of water and eating fresh fruits and veg helps flush your system out, it can take a week or 2 for your tummy to get back to normal, peppermint tea or prune juice can help with the bloating if that fails a mild laxative may help .Walking is good for you as long as you don't over do it. Hope your discomfort passes soon and happy healing there after . XXX

Re: Swollen ribs and stomach
All totally normal Bonniegirl. You feel like you've had a good kicking in the ribs don't you after doing a thousand-ups!
You've nothing to be concerned about hun. Its going to feel like that maybe a couple of weeks yet. But it does subside and its a natural part of the process.
Make sure you get lots of rest and I found when getting up from resting, if I crossed my arms over my boobs and rocked myself up this was the easiest way and gave the least discomfort when getting up.
You're gonna be just fine babe

Yep, all normal. I swear they're just shoving you around in there, I felt like I'd had a good kick in the ribs. Bloating is from the GA and can take a couple weeks to deflate. Try and stand as straight as possible asap, you'll instinctively hunch which will make it seem worse. Peppermint tea is supposed to be good too if you can stomach it.

Thanks everyone, my surgeon called me late last night as I felt really worried, mainly because I probably walked too much yesterday and thought I had done some serious damage. He also reassured me. Rest from today xx
