Sleeping on side?
Hi sorry if this has been asked before but I can't see it - my back and shoulders are killing me from sleeping on my back last night I woke up at 3am sore so slept on my side hugging a pillow and was much more comfortable.
I'm 3 weeks post Ba and uplift tomorrow is that ok??
When did you stop sleeping on your backs? Will put up my picture trail soon x

Re: Sleeping on side?
I think I lasted until day 10. My nurse told me not to do it until 6 weeks but said that was for comfort reasons rather than that I could do any damage to them. I find it more comfortable when sleeping but I get worse morning boob if I'm on my side.
Weirdly, if I sleep on my right side, I wake up having rolled on to my back which is something I would never have done pre-BA xx

Re: Sleeping on side?
Be you're comfortable babe. An uplift is a lot more invasive than a BA so those having had a BA rather than an uplift quite possibly will be a bit earlier to be able to side sleep. But if you feel your swelling has subsided and you're suffering no discomfort then you could give it a 'try'
If you wake up aching, or in any discomfort or through the following day then I'm afraid its back to your back for a little while longer until your boobs have had a little more time to heal, but after another week, you can try again.
The best way to start side sleeping is to hug your v-pillow, creating a drop in the pillow for your boob to drop into and so no pressure from your body is put on your boob. A soft pair of socks or a rolled face flannel placed between your boobs really helps too.
Hoping you have a better nights sleep hun and let us know how you get on. Xx

Re: Sleeping on side?
Just spoke to my nurse and she said I shouldn't put any pressure on the implant in case It moves so I may have to try onto back again tonight or hugging pillow for small amounts of time on side as I am in pain on my back!!! Lower ribs of back are affected the worst.. Thanks everyone for your comments.. Half way to week 6! X

I'm still on my back, I so desperately want to go on my side, but every time I try it hurts and pulls, so obviously I'm not ready.
Have you tried those stick on heat patches for your back? I got a few from Boots, there not particularly expensive and they gave me some relief on my lower back - but you can stick then anywhere (well obviously not on any boob area)

Re: Sleeping on side?
If you're to stay on your back then a pillow under your knees often helps to take some pressure from your back along with a rolled towel in the small of your back and those patches Suzi mentioned sound great! X
Re: Sleeping on side?
