Yeah, sure. I just think it's a very private thing, for me at least. I've never been content with the size of my breasts and feel they have never developed properly since I had an eating disorder as a child. I'm doing this for me and don't really relish the idea of people jumping to their own conclusions when they don't know the real reasons behind it. I hope that makes sense xx

Size is such a difficult decision isn't it!
Just wanted to say that...I had 525's and although I'm bigger than you (5"11 and size 16) mine look quite natural. No one has noticed at all!
I think you've seen my pics, but pm if you want to look, I have loads lol!
Also....I think it depends on the way you dress as well they can be dressed up or down.
Good luck with your decision.

Ur like me, goldilockz. But if ur sure ur going to have this don't no one should worry about the reason. It's ur happiness the end of the day and ur body. Ur also an adult and it's just enhancing what u already have. U never know they could end up supporting and being ur backbone. I thought my dad would be funny about it but he ended up being the one doing the whole most for me. If u want to do it alone go for it but I think u may save itself Alot of hassle if u just come out with it and if need be explain ur reason. But if ur happiness not confidence is what matters most to u they should want to look after and support u. I'm very private and certainly not one to go off showing everyone and they look so natural you couldn't tell honest. But the recovery would be much better if u had someone there to help and lookafter u. What ever u decide I wish u all the best size wise. Almost everyone I know who has had a boobjob says the best thing they've ever done. Certainly is mine. I'm very happy with my size. Perfect size xx

I think you may have seen my picture trail before but if not just ask. I had 410 but started as a C so was never small anyway, I thnk I could have got away with just saying I had gained them from pregnancy or I'm wearing a good bra but I've got a big mouth so couldn't keep it in from my friends lol. As long as your happy with the size when you tried them on (if unsure book another appt to try them on again) then go for what you want to do, try not to worry what other people think of size or if they will notice. Maybe with the varying opinions, another consultation or 2 xx

Post by Ktwin2 11th February 2013, 8:11 pm

Hi Goldilockz, sorry for the super slow reply, I had such a busy weekend and didn't get on the net much.

I'm having my surgery on April 14th, just having 2 more consultations; one with the surgeon I've booked in with, and the other with another surgeon, to get another opinion on placement. My surgeon said I can choose over OR under but I really cant choose so am getting another opinion and will go with the majority...which i think will be overs.

I'll be showing them off probably with my friends but massively want to keep them private at work, mainly because i don't want anyone bitching or gossiping about me behind my back (I didn't even tell them when i got engaged because I knew they would be looking at me differently and expecting me to be smug, which i wasn't, and they still couldn't help themselves but feign surprise and ask me if I was engaged and then gawped at the ring and gave each other side glances they thought I didn't see). I don't think it will be any different when I get my boobs.

I'm far from an expert but I shouldn't think there will be much difference between 410 and 465.. I will try to remember to ask at my next consultation for you.

Going by your avatar, I think 465 wouldn't be too big at all and being taller they will blend in with the rest of you easily. Its similar with weight, I can put on a stone and no one notices because my height hides it well, the only person that notices is me.

Like I said though, do exactly what feels right for you, one thing though, if you have broad shoulders (they don't look broad, you look really lovely), make sure you get implants with the right base width because you don't want to get an implant with a small base and have the implant making you look even broader....

It so hard to decide on all these things but I just bit the bullet and booked it because I knew if I didn't I never would (I've been researching this for around 5 years).

Good luck with your decision xxx

Hi guys,

Kerry, I agree with you. I would love to tell my mum, I
think she’s the only person I would want to know though. However, she doesn’t
have a ‘temper’ as such but this is the kind of thing she would be likely to
bring up in an argument in the future and use it against me (I don’t know if
that makes any sense). It is something that is extremely personal to me and not
even my mother knows how I feel about my post-anorexic body as I hide it well.
I would struggle to tell her in case it is used against me in the future in
some way, and I don’t want that. It means going through this process on my own
and that will undoubtedly be tough, but I think it’s something that’ll make me
stronger too. My ex-boyfriend knows and he has never asked me about it or
anything. He doesn’t seem to care much and I can’t expect him to be there for
me because we broke up only a few months ago. I think in terms of aftercare, I
will be staying in the hospital at least an extra 2 days so I will have the
support of the staff. And this forum is absolutely invaluable to me. I don’t want
my mum to worry about me either because that would add another layer of stress
to the procedure for me.

Mais, I have indeed seen your Pic trail, they look great!
Someone very rightly said that BAs can be dressed up or down. I have
waist-length hair so I can always hide them with that if need be! I also have a
rather fetching collection of wooly jumpers which will ensure my knockers are
well-covered! I think another couple of consults would be a good idea. Here’s
hoping they don’t confuse me even further!

Ktwin: Wow, April is so soon! That’s originally when I
wanted to have my surgery but I need to lose a bit of weight before then and be
at my target in time for my BA. I’d rather have a bit more time so it’ll probably happen around June with any
luck…I can definitely understand why you’d want to keep them quiet at work. My
work environment is the same. I don’t want ANYONE to know. I briefly dated and
(ahem) slept with one of my colleagues so I reckon he’ll suspect something’s
different which I’m not looking forward to…but when I first started working in
my job, someone asked me who I thought in the office had had a BA. Apparently
this is a game they play with all new starts and I wasn’t amused at the
bitching involved and the ‘I’d do her’ comments from the men. Congrats on your
engagement by the way! Eugh, your work environment sounds horrible if people
expect you to be smug at such lovely news as opposed to being happy for you.

Thank you for offering to ask the difference between 410 and
465 for me, that’s very sweet! I recall thinking ‘wowsers’ when I tried on the
465s, and really liking them. The nurse agreed they suited my frame but no
doubt when I lose a bit of weight, they’ll look too big so I am leaning more
towards the 410s. I agree: I have put on about 7lbs since that avi pic was
taken and although I am super self-conscious of it, no one else notices. In
fact quite the opposite, my mum is always saying I’m too skinny. The joys of
being tall…Thank you hun. I didn’t think I was broad but at the consultation,
Mrs Kat kept saying ‘very broad upper body’. She said the implants would have
to be slightly broader than the norm to be in proportion; the first surgeon to
mention this so I will make sure that if I go for another consultation, they
take this into consideration.

I agree that these things are difficult to decide upon and
there comes a time when you have to just go for it. I would really like to book
my BA by the end of the month, and think I will be going with Mrs Kat, who I
felt extremely at ease with and who was very thorough and attentive. I bet you’re
counting down the days until April! I’m excited for you! Thank you for all your
help xxx
