so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
OK so I have only had 2 consultations but have been given different info.
Mr Russo - (THG) advised TRX 375 - 420 - partial under.
Mr Khan (transform) said 380 to 410 - over.
Ive looked through previous posts and it looks like Mr Khan mostly does overs so is this why he is suggesting it? Mr Russo however appears to have done both unders and overs.
Also neither surgeon actually took any measurements so how can they know what size??
I am going to make a few more appointments tmrw but would appreciate your comments.

hmm before any of my surgeons said a size bar one they done loads of different measurements
are you going to try anywhere else for consultations if not you could email either surgeon explaing you ahve been given doff sizes placements by someone else and ask then to explain why they think what they have said to you is best for you xx

Any surgeon who prefers one placement over another rather than choose on a case by case basis I personally would run a mile from lovely.
In saying that having more consultations would help for you to make your final decision.
A lot of surgeons can just look and get a feel for your sizing... Having seen surgeons that works that way and another that measured nipple to collar bone, went through my breast width and talked through other factors with me, I personally preferred the later and 'for me' got a better result. Xx

I just dont get how they can make a decision without getting measurements. It is like guessing someones age =s mine took all sorts of measurements and even checked my breasts and arm pits for lumps x
Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
Yeah me too had measurements done before being advised on implant size xx

I would look for surgeons that took measurements. Take a look at the qualifications of the surgeons you have seen. If they are not BAAPS or BAPRAS registered you may want to look at some others. Not because they aren't qualified they are, but a BAAPS BAPRAS surgeon is qualified to do plastic surgery rather than any surgery. They've specialised in it.

I asked Mr Khan why over and he said "there wasnt enough muscle to go under and its less painful and simpler op." Wouldn't mle more pain for the right result. I am booking an app with Mr Dicson in Harpenden Spires and will look for another.

I agree. Usually they check your breast width diameter to tell you the biggest size implant they can get in x

Wasn't enough muscle? And a simpler op (for him I presume?) Doesn't sound like he's taken your body into consideration rather what's easiest for him.
Get another with a baaps surgeon and maybe see the diffrence as the other 2 work for the big companies. X

Surely by not measuring you they are just 'guessing/estimating' what size will fit. :S x

Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
I would have another consultation or maybe 2 elsewhere with different surgeons. For my 1st ba which was with a BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon I had no measurements taken or tried any implants on. For my 2nd ba I had quite a few consultations including Transform, Mybreast and Mya and they all took measurements and discussed suitable sizing and profiles and reasons for placement(which were all the same). I think there is always the exception to rule and unfortunatley I was that in my decision with my 1st ba. In my research for my 2nd ba I think I read every post on this forum and felt very well-informed and not afraid to ask questions or reasons from the surgeon. Good luck x

I saw Mr Russo at MYA before I went with Mrs Kat with Spire. He prefers unders but does do overs particulary when he does uplifts but he told me straight he does unders wherever he can. I did book in with him but then he was suspended from practice in June and only just got his medical licence back with the GMC. When this happened I ran a mile and started doing my research!! Obviously the fact that he got his medical licence back means he is competent to practice but from what I heard on the MYA forum he was suspended for not fullfilling his obligations to his patients following their surgeries so basically not giving them any aftercare. He was on Towie and did Lauren Popes boobs. I found him very up himself... he acts like a celeb and although he is obviously good looking he bloody knows it and I know my fella found him a bit creepy and was relieved when I cancelled my surgery with him.

yeah its like little piece of left over skin. its a complication that is more common.with uplift and is very wasy to fix. they just cut of the extra skin and glue the edges back together (my surgeon uses glue on the skin not stitches) its only a 45 min procedure in.and out in a day

Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
I had a consultation with Mr Russo about a year ago, I thought he was very nice but he didn't measure me either. Out of all the consultations I had with the 'big' clinics he was the best BUT none of them compare at all to the consultations I've had with baaps/bapras surgeons. You really do get what you pay for with a consulation. With Mr Berry I was with him for over an hour :) Where abouts in Hertfordshire are you from? I'd definitely suggest checking out baaps/bapras surgeons in London/Herts/Beds/Bucks/Essex. There's loads within about an hour's drive xx

Yeh hunni run a mile like cookie said it should be based on your measurements. I went to transfrom dr borghini and he said over 345 said i could have anything. Went to spire and Dr foo said i needed unders coz ive had kids and have too little tissue. I also needed TRX too because the height of my chest is too small. A surgeon always needs to work with your body not what he prefers just laziness if u ask me xxxx

Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
I was asked what sizes I wanted to go - shown implants from 300 - 525 (my doc doesn't like to go much bigger as a rule, but I think he would if asked). However, I'm a pretty big girl compared to a lot of girls on here, so I guess he wasn't worried about my BWD?
Also, he did give me the option of unders or overs, which I chose unders for several personal reasons.
Definitely you want a doctor who gives you choices within a range based on your body hunni. xxxxx

Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
Thanks for your comments. Thought I would update you all. I went to see Mr Paganelli today and well he was amazing. He measured me all over asked if I was happy for him to do a breast exam for lumps! He went through the reasons why certain implants would be too small and why others would be too big. He didn't agree with Mr Russo on the extra high profile, due to my age and breastfeeding he said my nipples are a little low, and they will probably drop a little naturally with age, therefore a moderate or high profile would be better, so that if and when they drop they will still be pointing forward and not down. If that makes sense. He said that partial unders would be better for my tissue and skin and also that having overs wouldnt be suitable because of my muscle and tissue and also can cause problems with Breast screening. I asked several questions which he answered clearly and if I, or my partner didnt understand he was happy to explain in more detail. I am one very happy girl, gonna have a think about it and do a little more research on him but am pretty sure he is the one for me

Its amazing the difference a 'good' consultation makes to how you feel isn't it hun.
Glad you're feeling happier and wise to mull things over before making any decisions. Xx

Glad you had a GOOD consulatation. And glad you feel happy and comfatable with him. X it makes all the diffrence being treated like an individual rather than just another Lady on the conveyr belt for a ba. x

Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
Thanks Cookie, Was in with him for about 45 mins plus he properly talked us through all the complications and problems that could occur, and didnt just say 'Oh dont worry about those they wont happen' like the surgeon i saw yesterday! He even suggested i buy a sports bra and do the 'cous cous' trick to get an idea of how they feel. if I thought they were too big he would go through other options with me.

Re: so confused about info given by surgeons - help !!
Is he baaps or bapras registered? My surgeon isnt either of these but saw me when i was 3hrs late, spent an hr with me, did all my measurements and checked for lumps, asked what i was looking for and what he recommended and why, gave me 2 different implant sizes to try and asked my opinion then asked me if i had anymore questions but he had covered absolutely everything =] so my 1st consultation was so good i cant motivate myself to see anyone else haha x
