surgeons and cup sizes
Hi girls, I had ny 2 week check with my surgeon today which went really well and he Saud the results are even better than he thought they'd be! I even got the go ahead to have baths if I wanted, which I was actually surprised about! What has everyone else been advised about baths?
Was also advised to start using a silicone gel on my scars (he recommended healgel) any one got any experience of this?
Anyway, I had to laugh when he said "so what size sports bra are you wearing now, a C or D?" He nearly choked when I gold him a 32F! Just goes to show that no matter how good a surgeon is, they aren't always that good at guessing cup size and its better to go in talking about the look rather than the size!

WOW thats such good news Mandy! Nice one!
I was allowed showers after 10 days, so I'm sure a bath will be fine for you! Nice to be able to be clean for Valentines!
I've been recommended healgel too, but the nurse told me not to use it for 4 weeks post op... oh well everyone is different!
Congrats on your good recovery!

Id been going around wearing a 32b since I had my little boy but after reading on here and realising my bra didn't fit properly, I found I was actually more like a 28/30 D/DD, all be it very deflated in the upper pole.
I'm just hoping they don't drop too much, I love them as they are! I'm all for a bit of fluffing though!

Yes, perceptions of cup sizes differ so much and even surgeons doing breast related work who you would think should know haven't got a clue, which is why we always recommend you don't go in asking for a cup size but show a picture of the 'look' you like. cup sizes are confusing even for us women! lol

Re: surgeons and cup sizes
I was told no bath (fully submerged boobs) for 6 weeks, but I was allowed shallow baths. Glad you're healing well. I don't know much about the gel, I just used bio oil at 6 weeks.
Re: surgeons and cup sizes
I'm still not allowed a bath!!!!!!! I got told 8 weeks no baths desperate for a long soak!
I have silicone strips on my scars now used them before and you couldn't see my scar

Been researching the heal gel and it was actually developed by the 5 founding Mybreast surgeons. Think I'm going to get some. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Bit confused about the bath thing as I also asked if it would ok to swim as we're away in a hotel in a few weeks and he said that was ok. Think I'll call back on Monday to double check.

Your avi is looking great Mandy - bet you are sip leased! Funny about the cup size...definitely makes me think that showing the look you want rather than the size is the best thing to do! Enjoy your bath - even if it is shallow!! :-) xx
