'Spotting' from wounds
Morning all,
Got up this morning to have my shower took yesterday's bra off and noticed spots of blood both sides from my wounds only little bits but blood anyway! Had my shower as usual and washed them as surgeons instructions and then when patting them dry they are still spotting on the towel. Will they be ok? Have I done too much maybe or does this just happen sometimes? Had a mad panic that they gonna open up and fall out lol xx

i was told not to get mine wet but i have my dressings removed tomo and they deffinately have been spotting up until 2 days ago so it must be normal. your only noticing it more as your allowed to shower. maybe dont get them wet for another few days and they will have more time to scab over and heal? x

Ah ok, it was literally just a tiny bit I think it's prob from my bra rubbing on them. If it gets any worse today I will call my hospital but think its ok atm. I just done want anything to spoil them or hinder recovery as was doin so well!
Tink, I have been able to wash my incisions since day 2 as have glue and internal stitches. Bet you can't wait to go back and see your surgeon and be able to have a full shower :)
Yes I was thinking that too vickey, I will see how they are tomorrow I think I poss over done things yesterday too as I felt so ok frightened me a little so taking it extra easy today xx

Re: 'Spotting' from wounds
Spotting is completely normal and nothing at all to be concerned about lovely. After showering do ensure your wounds are completely dry. Patting them dry first with your towel and then gently drying them with the cool setting on your hairdryer to you know they're dry completely.
The only reason you'd have for concern seeing blood would be if dressings were completely sodden. As its just spotting, I wouldn't worry about it hun. Xx

Thanks cookie!! Didn't think about the hairdryer now I know will do this! I have been patting them dry and allowing air to them while getting dressed.
