Feel restricted.....
Hi Ladies,
Hope you are all well?
I am now just over 3 weeks PO and my recovery has been amazing...... im just so sick of wearing sports bras.... I almost feel claustrophobic in them :(
For the first couple of week i couldnt bare to be out of them as it felt like they would drop of but now my favorite time of the day is being in the shower without it!!
I have my appointment with my surgeon on the 14th Feb but may try and speak to someone sooner about wearing a soft non wired bra?
Any advice?xx

Re: Feel restricted.....
I'd advise that no matter your feelings about wearing sportsbras hun, you do what we all need to do to get the very best from your recovery lovely.
There's few of us who enjoy wearing sportsbras for long periods of times specified by our surgeons, but to enable yourself to get the best result possible, that support is what's needed lovely.
Of course, its entirely your decision what you do, but I'd personally follow your surgeons instructions. He's done great for you so far, so why why take a detour from what he advised for you now? X

Re: Feel restricted.....
To be honest I would just ride it out, your half way through now and our sports bras are the only thing that are supportive enough for our recovery, they may say you could have breaks from it though. I was told I could go without it at night after 3 weeks but never did and still sleeping in it now. But of corse it completely depends what your surgeon recommends xx

Re: Feel restricted.....
Speak to them and see what they suggest. If they're happy for you to be in a soft cup bra then I'd make sure you are properly fitted into a nice supportive one. I didn't mind my sports bra, but then I was just happy to fill any bra lol. It then became my security blanket type thing and I was in it all the time even though I was allowed to wear wires.
My advice is don't be too disappointed if they say no, maybe got out and find yourself another sports bra in bright pink or something to cheer you up.

Me too! I'm 8 weeks still in my sportsbra this time too. I'd love to wear a lower cut nice bra and just have a choice really, but I can't.... So I just have to bare with it for now. Like misf1 said, I buy nice sportsbras to cheer myself up. Its not like they'll go to waste after I get the all clear, I wear them a lot of time anyway and for bed. Xx
Re: Feel restricted.....
thank ladies.....
I know you are right..... Im just not used to wearing such a 'big' bra and as sports bras go mine are pretty small.
I just feel so held in which i know is the idea but had enough now! lol
My recovery programme says to stay in them until 6 weeks but my surgeon appt will be just before my 8 week mark.... should i stay in them until i see him or can i get fitted for a soft cup bra before?
I know im lucky.... i think 3 months of sports bras would have driven me insane!! xx

Yeah I live in my Macoms still when the work day is done/just bumming about at home! Don't think I'll ever wear a bra all the time like I used to! Love the comfort and support of them at home :) xx

I'd personally wait till till you get the all clear Lucy. 8 weeks out of the rest of your time to enjoy your new boobs isn't that much to ask really is it? And at least then you'll know you did everything by the book to get the very best result possible for yourself.
Your surgeon can only do so much to help you get the great pair of boobs we all crave, the rest in our recovery is up to us. Xxx
Re: Feel restricted.....
i love my sports bras and you can get so many nice ones now but i know how you feel they seem to hold them boobies in but i suppose thats the job they are ment to do.
im in on the 7th and already know by emails that if lefty doesnt get its act together and play game in in my sports bra for another 4 weeks after that, im happy to listen to ym surgeon and hopefully get into nice bras/bikinis for our April/May hol xx

Re: Feel restricted.....
Might be best to wait until the appointment tho I know how annoying it is! We just want it all now but sadly it's a slow process! I mean I technically still haven't had the all clear from my surgeon! x
