Re: having a very bad moment!!!!
Hey Shandy58, just read your message and wanted to send you hugs. You are certainly not old, I am 45 but I understand your concerns. I spent years feeling so self conscious and taking comments from people about my boobs but decided after 42 years and 3 kids i wanted to do something for myself like you did. You know I think other peolple will always have an opinion about something and feel its their right to make comments and we cant change that about them, but we can change how we respond to them. Hold your head high honey, when your girlies settle down I am sure you will will pleased and they will! I had 460 overs and felt huge but now 2 months post op they have settled really well and many people, including the know it alls who made comments b4 have not even noticed! Your OH sounds lovely and supportive, so enjoy them and be proud honey. x

Re: having a very bad moment!!!!
Hi I understand exactly how you feel cos I was like that - but wearing a sportsbra really does dress them down a bit - I am only 7 weeks nearly but not worn normal bras yet cos it would make it more noticeable. I have already said that as I am 50 - your body changes unexpectedly which nobody batted an eyelid at ... but you are too young for that - else i was going to say that I had the IUD coil fitted with the minipill and hey look great for making your boobs bigger - thats a good one cos it does happen. Basically the only people that might notice are people with little boobs and there arent many of them around in the this day and age and most people are so concerned about how they look they really dont notice. Just dress down for a few weeks and you will get used to them - good luck and am sure you will be fine. X

Re: having a very bad moment!!!!
Hi all,
what wonderful sound comments...
Well was it as bad as I had blown it up to be...in my mind
No not at all....( thou weather made it difficult to cover up )
Did people notice...if honest..on Monday only 2 but they were very coy about it....trying to get answers...by telling me that they thought another young lady who works with us had one during Easter break...( she took an extra week off )They asked me if I had noticed..I said no because I hadn't..( but looking at her now more closely she def have and looks great for it)
One walked out saying that 'well I haven't had one'. Then yesterday more of the women staff have had a sneaky look....( obviously the 2 had discussed their thoughts and ideas.to the others while I was away....)
I must say it didn't bother me in the least which did surprise me.....( had a lovely new bright yellow top on and didn't care)
thou not ready yet to wear tight tops...to work any how just yet.
My OH loves them and as the second week draws to a close I am getting very much used to them...they hurt less, and don't feel as heavy....so now starting to feel a bit more like me.......
This site has and is a god send for those moments of worry, for advice, for support and just for a chat....with much thanks from me xx

Glad you had a good time lovely, sometimes what we think multiplies our fears, but when we actually get around to doing what we're afraid of it's not that bad!

Re: having a very bad moment!!!!
Im had a similar size difference pre and post op and everyone in my office found out why I was off work. I was also a little worried about what some of the girls would say but to be completely honest, noone has said a nasty thing at all.
The girls just ask how Im doing and whats happening with them and quite strangely are the ones who have asked if they can have a feel once they are settled. I found that they are more intregued and want to know more. They also keep sayin that theyre proud of me for bein so brave.
The lads occassionally ask when Im gonna wear a nice low cut top...and I reply with 'Once I can get out of this sports bra and into a 'normal' bra' lol
Its really nothing to worry about. Youve done it for you so you shouldnt worry about what other people think either way.

Re: having a very bad moment!!!!
Hope today has gone ok?
Just to put your mind at rest. I felt mine were far too big when I first had my BA and wondered if I had done the right thing etc however i'm now almost 3 weeks post op and the swelling has gone down a lot and they look a lot more natural and like they belong on me so i'm sure yours will too hun.xx

Re: having a very bad moment!!!!
hey I only just saw this thread.... as you've seen, it's not such a trauma going back into the real world, whether people notice or not.... but it's normal to play it up in our head beforehand. And soon your boobs won't feel so huge, but just part of you! Hugs x
