Re: Hard lumpy scars
I don't know what was advised to you by your PS, but at my 6 week check-up, my PS advised me to massage the scars by putting deep pressure on them. When he showed me, he wasn't kidding about massaging them... he put some serious pressure on my scars! I thought when he said to massage them, the gentle kind of massage... nope, when he did it, it was almost painful!
I'm 2 days shy of 10 weeks, and have been massaging my scars since 6 weeks, and the hard lumps have smoothened/softened up a lot... but again, do what was advised to you by your ps... but the lumpy scars seem to be normal hun.. xx

Re: Hard lumpy scars
Sound normal to me Pammie. Use firm circular motions to massage your scars. You may hear pops as the scar tissue starts to break down, but don't worry it's all normal sweetie. Xx
Re: Hard lumpy scars
Ok I will give that a go thanks, is massaging the only way to get rid of it? It won't just go on its own then? Xx

Re: Hard lumpy scars
It will settle down Pammie. Often scars can look a lot worse before they get better, but the massage does help to break down the scar tissue. If you're a little afraid of touching them at first, just start gently building up the amount of pressure you put on them as you gain more confidence. Xx
