sore lumpy scars
hi all just wondered if anyone had any advice for me please. My scars on both boobs nearest the armpits are getting lumpy and slightly tender.
I am 8 weeks post op. I havent been massaging and have only just started to literally 2 days ago. Any advice please as so what to do with them, is this semi normal or should i go back to the nurses at surgicare.
thanks xx

I'm not too sure hun, but just give them a call to put your mind at rest.

Have a word with surgicare about it, but I think it is early days for the scars to be smooth. Maybe massage them lightly using a special scar cream. My scars did go smoother, but are still quite red.

Re: sore lumpy scars
At 8 weeks your incisions are still fresh so they will remain red/pink for up to 6 months post op so thats normal, I think its normal for them to be soreish too at this early stage. Try massaging rosehip oil, dermatix gel or bio oil into them and really put alot of pressure on them to break down the scar tissue which should help smooth them out

Thanks guys for the reassurance. I'm going to really put some effort into the massaging and keep doing it regularly xx
