Worried I'm not wearing the correct bras...
Hello ladies!
Just a quickie really, bit worried I'm not wearing the correct bras... what impact could this have on my healing process and boobs long term?
I have the Macom in medium as I wear a 34 back but recently worrying it's not tight enough! It seems ok on the bust but it's not really that tight on the band, I can easily put a few fingers up the back in the gap. (lol that sounds dirty )
Also, I have been wearing a Belvia bra by JML which I'm thinking now isn't right one bit! It feels great, it's like a very cheap Macom where you buy in s/m/l etc but now thinking wearing that I may have damaged my healing and boobs as it's maybe not supportive enough?!
ARGH!!!! Panicking!

The Belvia bra isn't appropriate at all for your recovery zebra. It's designed for comfort, not for full support. It's great for wearing after recovery, but not at all during.
Your Macom sounds fine. You should be able to get a couple of fingers underneath it, the band isn't supposed to be tight and uncomfortable hun.
If our looking for another 'bra' to wear aside for the Macom, then you need to look for a 'high impact' bra. Xx

I'm sure you'll be fine hun. Just don't wear them again sweetness and if you need a bra, do get yourself a high impact one as I said.
Don't worry xx

I keep reading about high impact, I never invested in a Macomb but wish I had done. But my PC and another PC that I see just said to buy sports bras from Asda or somewhere like that which is what I did, do you think I will be ok I'm worried now but I am 6weeks and go for my check next week? Should they really be advising these sports bras? Xx

Hi Mummy me-try not to worry as you have followed the advise you were given. For my first ba I had a Royce bra which was given to me at the hospital by my surgeon which I found very comfortable. So when I had my 2nd ba I was going to get another one or a Macom but was advised that my surgeon liked his patients to wear the sports bra from Asda as in his opinion it helped the implants to drop. I did wear these and found them uncomfortable and was tempted to go ahead and get a Macom, however after reading advice its best to follow the instructions you have been given in regards to your aftercare. You've followed the instructions you were given so I'm sure all will be fine for you. x

Patient care co-ordinators should never be giving post-op care advice really, they are sales women and have no medical training.. Any pre or post-op advice should always come from those medically trained that are caring for you i.e your surgeon and your clinic nurse, no-one else is qualified to be giving you instruction regarding your care, unless its come directly from your surgeon.
I'm sure you'll be fine Mummy me, I have heard some women have used them as well as yourself. But here we have to advice based on what is mostly advised by surgeons... I'm sure you understand. Xx
