When can you drive & sleep on your side again?
Just wondering :) My 2nd gear & reserve can be stiff so don't want to pull the booby muscles, and lying on my side feels like I'm squashing the boobs but I'm soo fed up of lying on my back! Thanks x

You're fine to drive and sleep on your side now at 3 weeks post op babe 'as long as YOU feel comfortable'
Just check your driving insurance first though as some have a time frame where you wouldn't be insured after having surgery for a specific amount of time. If the gears on your car still feel stiff to the point it's causing you discomfort after driving, then maybe leave it for another week and try again hun.
Feeling like you're squashing your boobs is nothing to worry about hun, your implant are very robust so nothing is going to happen to them. I used my V-Pillow to position myself on my side so I created a sort of gap for my boob to fall through if you get what I mean, that way I didn't feel as much pressure on my breast and made myself more comfortable sleeping that way. Xx

Lady V, I was about 4 weeks PO untill I felt it was comfortable to sleep slightly on my side, at an angle.
At 5 Days PO i wasnt comfortable sleeping on my side. I think its adivised that you sleep propped up for the first 14 days so I would say no, but call your PCC.

Re: When can you drive & sleep on your side again?
I'd think you're pretty much still quite swollen at 5 days post-op LadyV and the reason you need to sleep propped up is to help that swelling subside.... When the swelling has eased ladyV, you can then try slowly moving onto your side sweetheart. xx

Okie dokie thanks ladies was just checking, it does feel very odd when even slightly laying to the side like my boobs are going to slide off ha ha so think I will leave it for a while. Thanks xx

Re: When can you drive & sleep on your side again?
I was able to sleep on my side after my first check up. To start I used pillows behind me to lean back on, I wasn't entirely on my side or my back, but proped at an angle instead. I also found wearing a very good supportive sports bra made me feel comfier!
I can now sleep on my side no problems and use a stretch py sweaty Betty sports bra to sleep in with minimal support (but I've had the all clear to sleep without)
You just have to ease yourself into it, if your body says no then listen to it!x

Thanks girls! :) I think I'll try it sleeping on my side at an angle first, I'm worried about the implant being flattened or knocked out of it's pocket or something.

I was told I could sleep on my side after a week. I still can't sleep without a pillow either side of me though, one to put my knees on and one behind me to elevate me slightly.
Nice avi Alice!
