hi, Iwas just wondering when it would be ok to sleep flat or on my side, I'm 17 days post op after uplift and implant. Having real difficulty getting a good nights sleep as my back is killing!! have lowered my pillows slightly but still waking up every couple of hours with back pain ect.
When can I sleep flat?

Re: when can you sleep flat?
I started laying flat at 2 weeks post op, i was told to sleep upright for 2 weeks to help swelling go down, then i started turning on my side, do what makes you comfortable, putting pillows under my knees really helped my back x
Re: when can you sleep flat?
Aww, remember that back & ache - it's a killer isn't it !?!
I slept gradually flater and finally flat after about 10 days & I'm only just starting to sleep on my side hugging a thin pillow to my boobies.
If you rush things it will hurt - make sure you wear a firm support bra in bed & your body will tell you it is comfortable with !!

I was also told to try to sleep upright for 2 weeks for swelling etc, you know how you feel in yourself so do what makes you comfortable, you'll know when your ready, xxxx

Re: when can you sleep flat?
Its just when if feels right to you hun. I was never told i had to sleep upright, but there was no other way to cope with the pain at the time. I think i started sleeping flat at about 2 weeks.
