Flat edge Empty Flat edge

Post by Pilly 1st November 2013, 9:03 am

Hi ladies, I'm now 5 weeks PO and my leftie although is very slowly settling in to the pocket, it still has a horrible flat edge on the bottom right side of my left breast just up a bit from my incision , it is still smaller than my right breast too, what is the flat spot/edge , what has caused it and will it ever fluff at the flat spot? ...... I'm thinking it might be something to do with how I was stitched inside as it's close to where I had dissolvable stitches poking out if my boob, just above and over from my incision as they didnt dissolve and the nurse had to cut it at week 4 and even the nurse said "oh, your left breast doesn't like dissolvable stitches" .... I'm guessing that comment was because on both sides of leftie the stitches poking out above my scar, was a little wound with stitch pokin out xxx

Hey Pilly. It might just still be taking its time to drop and shape. Mine were quite square for a while post op, it could just be a remnant from that. I wouldnt worry too much. Whens your next appointment with your surgeon? If its still like that at the 3m mark, Id discuss it with him then.

At 5 weeks post op your so early on and when you consider you don't normally see the end result until the 6 month mark or beyond you still have so far to go and your boobs still have so many changes to go through...
Although I can't be sure it does sound as though the incision is causing the slight unevenness but I think your just have to see over time if it does sort itself out which it most likely will.. You will be able to walk about this when you see someone next which will be the 6 week check? If it did end up you need a re op it wouldn't be until the 6 month mark X

At 5 weeks post op still very early hunny. Mine looked quite dented and square looking, it's totally normal for them to look rectangular, sqaure and dented.
They  will even up x

It takes 3months for dissolvable stitches to fully dissolve inside x
