My husband took a week off to help with my 18 month old. He did everything so I just rested. Still went everywhere with them but let him do the running around. My son has now learnt to climb into his high chair himself and climb downstairs backwards so he's progressed too as I'm not helping do the tiny bits. I still helped feed him with his meals. And changing his bum I did from 1 week post op. I felt rerly good after and was getting very bored not helping out so did some polishing on the 3rd day. What you can do to help is think off all the things you need to use and put them at arms length and not too high up as you won't be able to reach into cupboards. Changing my sons bum I just lay him on the sofa on a mat and I sit down and just change him as normal but just lift there legs a lil to out the nappy under. You are not supposed to just retire to your bed so general stuff is fine and the more you keep active the quicker your recovery. That's a reason any I thing i feel good as I carried on doing my routine but took my time and didn't rush. Sorry for rabbiting on xxx

Yeah i would say so. I could do normal things on day 2 but chose to let hubby do it. The only thing I left till 2 weeks was push the pram. So if you still av a toddler in a pram they say leave that till 2 week if you can xxx

I did everything as normal. Just have to be careful. Obviously no lifting. I have a 6yr old and he kept on being his playful boisterous self. I had to keep on explaining to him that I was not well.

My daughter was extremely helpful. She is a very clam and lovely child so she gave me no problems.

My partner was helpful at times and other times he wasnt. That was until I broke down and gave him a piece of my mind. Then I had this attitude (want something done gotta do it yourself)

The night before I went to hospital I cooked and refrigerated the food. I poured out glasses of water and covered with clingfilm and refrigerated. I baked a banana cake and peeled some fruit and again I refridgerated.

I cleaned the house from top to bottom and did a major shopping.

I took my son to the barber and washed and braided my daughters hair.

Its important to do as much as you can before the day and if youve got help thats even better.
