Tips Pre & Post BA
Hi Ladies
Just looking for some tips from you lot on what to do pre BA & post op. So far I have read Vitamin E helps minimise the risk of CC. Arnica 30c capsules before and after the op to help with bruising. Bio Oil/Coco Butter after for scaring and before for supplness. Macom bras are good for support after BA. V Pillow helps when sleeping. No alcohol or ibuprofen at least 2 weeks before BA. No heavy lifting/hoovering/carrying for first 4-6 weeks. Think that's all so far
Sorry if this thread has already been done, but can't seem to find it
Thanks in advance. Oh and I am getting new can't wait!!! Just don't know when as I am getting them on the NHS. Getting my photos done on Thursday for before and after photos for the surgeon to compare. Once they are done they are sending me my appoint, within 3-6 months

Yeah senna haven't worked great for me do dried fruit too,
No matter what brand of bravthat you go for post up make sure you but in a few sizes to get the best for post pp to take the others back.
Eleccy toothbrush, that's been a godsend for me! (minimises vigorous arm movement!)
Dry shampoo in case you can't wash your hair as often.
Zip up tops, trackies as they're easier to pull up than skinny jeans. X

Re: Tips Pre & Post BA
There's a brilliant thread somewhere too called something like 'things I wish I'd been told before my BA'. Certainly an eye opener - not enough to put you off :-D but prepares you for things you've never thought of. I'll be starting my sit ups to try and help me sit up in the mornings without using my arms! And lots of pureed fruit and superfruit smoothies!

Sitting up without using your arms is really hard especially when you are my age with no stomach muscles to speak of

Re: Tips Pre & Post BA
hi there, here a few things that are helping me:
facewipes, baby wipes, antiseptic wipes for underarms (godsend!).
If you can get your armpits waxed rather than shaved just before your BA, you'll be a much happier lady. (wish I had done this, currently horrified by my pits a week post ba!)
A sponge (one for face, one for lady parts).
Dry shampoo
A raised tray or bed table to put a laptop on for surfing t'internet/watching films.
Travel pillow for falling asleep sitting up! And just loads of pillows generally
Several different styles of sports bra - i'm finding that different ones help comfort wise. Some days one works, other days others are more comfy.
Button up shirts/high necked tops for covering sports bra.
A rucksack rather than handbag for commute into work
Ocado/supermarket home delivery service
A slave (I don't have one, but really need one) ;-)
Hope that's helpful...best of luck!!! xxx

Don't want to sound gross ladies, or too personal; but how often do you change your bras post op?

2nd time lucky - I know but it's easier said than done, I have 2 dogs as well so the housework needs to be done everyday! The kids are old enough to help out and are self-sufficient so I will just need to pay them extra pennies to help mum in her time of need

Re: Tips Pre & Post BA
I changed mine every day because I was told to by the nurse in the hospital, got one of my boys to help (extra pennies ) But I am not entirely sure that was needed as your incisions are covered so germs from your bra could nt get in anyway xx
