Hey Pinkpetal!
Congratulations on making the move and booking your BA!
Firstly, Do Not Be Nervous!
You will really enjoy the whole experience, there is a little 'pain' involved but it's probably not the pain you have in mind, the discomfort you experience will be from the pressure of your new additions, so you're not going to be writhing in agonising pain so don't worry about it! Really enjoy your op day because it is over with in the blink of an eye, make the most of it!
There are tonnes of threads already offering advice etc on diet and prep things.
A couple of key things are taking Arnica, which is available in an oral spray or a pill, this is good for bruising and swelling and you can start to take it up to two weeks before and for two weeks after your operation. One week prior to your operation will still give you support if you take it from the one week countdown.
I took a powedered substance called Vital Greens, I blended it into my morning smoothie and it was yummy and a good dose of vegetables as I don't eat the dreaded things ever!
For any pre-op and post-op medicines, check with you surgeon that they approve as it is very important to follow their guidance step-by-step.
As far as things go for around the house, keep everything at a comfortable height (between your waist and your chin) because reaching and lifting is going to be impossible for a day or two post op. Keep things out of heavy cupboard doors and drawers, again because you wont be able to lift/ open etc.
Get some painkillers (again, check with your surgeon) as they don't give you an awful lot for post op, so I mixed up my meds, I took their medication first thing in the morning BEFORE trying to get out of bed (this is the hardest part of the day) and I took one of their meds in the middle of the day and two in the evening to get to sleep (another hard part). In between the doses during the days I took two mercyndol tablets and they were fantastic. Ask your surgeon if this is all ok and most importantly, KEEP ON TOP OF YOUR PAIN! It is very easy to think you are feeling 'ok' on the painkillers only to have the wear off and you are in agony again, so keep taking them at the reccomended timeslots for at least the first two days to make recovery more comfortable.
Lastly, (I could go on for days and days, but) have a read through this forum. There are so many fantastic posts and tips, everyone has a different experience so really dig through the threads on here, comment and ask questions, and get comfortable with the whole process.
Congrats again, and WELCOME to BJSF!!!!

Buy 2 bags of frozen peas for the first 2-3 days after the op - they help SO MUCH with swelling and feel divine. Better than painkillers - 20 mins on 20 mins off.
Good luck, you'll do great, and can't wait to read your story!

Buy some drinks straws, i couldnt lift a glass or cup for a few days after. Plenty of paracetemol, i didnt need the strong prescription painkillers after the 2nd day and just took paracetemol every 4 hours. Antibiotics always give me thrush, luckily i had some canesten in the cupboard or i would've been in a right state. Constipation relief tablets, omg you will def need these lol. Try not to worry about it hun you'll be fine.x

Good luck with your BA you'll be fine like all the other girls said keep on top of your painkillers. The only other tip I think I would have is make about a weeks worth of teas and freeze them cos your not gonna feel like cooking for a few days and little things like peeling veg are impossible for a few days and eating healthy will be great for a quicker recovery as tempting as it was to just pick up the phone and ring for a takeaway lol.

I've read that the peas can stink after they thaw, so it's best to put them in ziploc bags. Good luck!
