The 30c is what you need after a major trauma, like surgery.

They really do help with bruising, it's amazing! I got mine in Holland & Barrett.

I thought it helped... I never got any bruising and my op was quite rough with the macrolane removal.

I used it when i had both my kids and had no bruising or soreness. ANd my son came out with his hand next to his head so sure i was meant to be a little battered and bruised!

Just after i beleive - don't think taking it before helps at all as there is no bruising yet.

i got the 30 too.

I didn't know there were different strengths! I made my husband get some for me straight after my op as had been advised by a friend.

I'm currently taking 6c which is funny because I am on day 7 with no bruising yet *touch wood***

I took the 30 too. I was told by my surgeon to take it for 3 days before and 3 days after. Funny thing was on the day of the surgery he asked if I'd taken it and I was like er No! Lol. So for a total of 7 days I think is the norm!

I do think it helped. I didn't have any visible bruising at all. Just some usual swelling. Not sure if I have the arnica to thank or my surgeon's handy work!!!! Lol xxx

I was told to take the 30cc, i have had a tiny amount of bruising, but considering the trauma we go through it wasnt alot, and i think it was down to the Arnica, i took it a week before and a few days later.

I took the 30 for about 5 days before and 7 days after but none on the day of the op ..... I had a bruise on each of my insisions and a light one down the middle of my boobs .... Considering he struggled to get my implants in I'm
Supprised I didn't have a big black bruise down the middle !!

What strength Arnica? Empty Re: What strength Arnica?

Post by Aurora1979 7th January 2012, 6:50 pm

Bumping this topic as I am confused.

I have looked at Boots and Holland and Barratt. They both stock Arnica Pillules. They do they as 30c and 6c. In both cases you take two every 2hrs for the first 6 doses and then two four times a day for up to five days or until symptoms improve..........

So from what you have said above I need to get the 30c but when do I start taking them? Did you do 8 a day in the lead up to surgery?

Why do I have to chew them or suck them, why can't I just swallow them?

Sorry for all the questions - I am two weeks away from surgery so tstarting the no alcohol etc and was wondering when Arnica starts......

My PS gave me arnica to take after surgery, it was the 30c dosage and, i was provided with a 3 week supply which I took 5 times a day. I was also told not to eat or drink 10 min before or after nor should you touch it with your hands so I used a spoon to fetch the tablets out.

I think food thing must have something to do with the absorption into the bloodstream, and I have read touching them with your hands has a negative effect on the tablet.

I totally believe the arnica helped with both the brusing and the pain, I had no bruising just swelling and only took the pain killers for 2 days after the op.

Arnica....

I taught natural health for 10 years so her's a bit more info...

yes it has to dissolve in the mouth to enter blood stream to have best effect, rather than go through the digestive system.

6c isn't strong enough for an op, yes 30c or even better get some 200c soft tablets 4g from Helios (online) take one asap after the op, then one that night. then 30 c after that. there is no set dose as it's an individual situation, but more is not always best, thats not how homeopathy works. the statements on the bottles in th shops are there because of legislatioon, but generally they suggest much more than necessary. as standard i would take 3 dose a day of 30c for a few days post op. you can take a couple of doses pre- op.

it's best not to eat/drink 10min either side especially tea/ coffee as this affects absorption, and don't touch them, the tab;ets hold a micro dose of the plant and are quite affected by body heat etc. tip one into the lid and tip it onto your tongue, then let it dissolve under tongue. (thats why i always buy the soft tabs as they dissolve instantly!)

Helios are cheaper than usual high street prices anyway.

Perfect, thanks hun :flowers:

Boots and Holland and Barratt do the 30c in funky containers that you click the toptwice and it drops the capsule things into a cup and then you can take them straight from that.

If I only get 30c which on the pot counts 2 tabs as one dose - would that be the same as your dose above?

What strength Arnica? 923101 Hi girls just say I spoke with staff at Helios and it was suggested that the 200c was the best strength after an operation but only to take right after operation 1 tablet 3 times a day then reduce to twice a day after a few days then once a day after a few more days. Confused after reading the last post, the clinic nurse has wrote down that I have to take arnica 6c for 5 days before and 5 days after but above said 6c isn't strong enough for an op should I just do what the nurse has advised me to do? And do I take it on the day of the op, should I take it if I conscious or just leave it all together and start again the next day? Xx
