Are Partials same as Unders re healing?
Hi Peeps,
Just wondering if having partials are basically the same as unders when it comes to healing?
Is having to cut the chest muscle the reson it is more painful?
Getting a bit worried now about after! My hubbie has hurt his back and has been laid up this week. It's my firned who is off work and helping me some days after me BA on Monday. I will have to get kids breakfast and my youngest who is 3 organised for school on weds and thurs ... will I be anywhere near up to it? hubbie also said he might now work on the friday (as he's had to take all week off unpaid and next friday will eb another day unpaid!) ... no way i can get kids to school myself so lo may have to have day off ... which might be worse then her going to school!! sorry - i am going on a bit! it's not the surgery that worries me it's trying to do too much afterwards and doing myself some damage!
thanks
Sam

I think that "total unders" are really only done for breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. most people say "unders' when they mean partials. I think total unders are only needed when all the breast tissue has been removed.....
but I guess there may be doctors out there who do complete unders??? other girls???
So to answer your question, yes, partials are still the same healing procses as "unders" - I had a pretty easy recovery but you can't bend, lift or push anything for a little while....I'd be a bit nervous with a 3 year old and no help for the first week/2 weeks, but after that you should be fine to take it super slow. It was all I could do to take care of myself - needed help showering for the first 5 days (and like I said, my recovery was easy - I was driving by day 4).
I'd just be nervous to get a child in and out of car/ buckle her in/ moving your arms...ideally with partials you need to keep your elbows by your sides for the best/easiest healing for as much of the time as possible for 2 weeks minimum (told to me by my PS).
I'd ask your PS hun - you REALLY don't want the result of a hematoma, which one girl on here got from hoovering after 1 week....
*I"m NOT trying to scare you, but just wouldn't want you to suffer any complications xxxxxxxxx

oh it's so hard! the house stuff is easy - I am not planning on doing ANY hoovering, ironing, washing - lifting baskets, food shopping or any lifting or work for at least 4 ... really want to make it to 6 weeks! It's just the kids thing! I am a mum first and foremost and will find it so hard not being able to do things for them!
