Nervous about wearing a proper bra Empty Nervous about wearing a proper bra

Post by gemari 29th November 2011, 9:47 am

PS has said I can wear any bra I like, so I've got a few which are very comfortable. When I put them on and put a top on my boobs look odd to me. Probably because I haven't seen them out of a compression bra. They look lovely and natural without a bra but with one they look strange in clothes. I'm worried that because I think they look odd other people will. Do you think it's just because I'm not used to them yet? My pre BA boobs didn't need as much support and I always wore a bra with lots of padding. I don't want to wear a bra which moves them together or pushes them up as I want them to continue to heal. My lefty still swells a little if I do too much so I don't want to aggravate it. Does anyone have any suggestions or is it just a case of getting used to it? By the way the bras which I have are different from my Avi bra, as that one got too small shrug xx

Sorry i can't really help but will be watching for replies to ur post as i think i will feel the same as you. I have been out and tried bras on(I cant help myself!) and afterwards i worry that i have damaged my boobies. I have been told that i can wear non wired bras at 6 weeks but not sure about wired ones so maybe i'll feel ok by the time i get the ok for these. i would imagine if you've been told by ur ps its ok then you'll be fine.Just slowly build up the time u wear them for to get used to it(like a new pair of shoes!!)xxx

Hey gorgeous, I am pretty sure as they heal you can wear bras that do this, as it will keep the pocket nice and loose for natural movement. But if it starts to ache or feel sore then switch over. Maybe.....just thought of it then :heehee: , maybe try wearing these different variety of bras for an hour or two each day, switching them up  ...it will get you used to them and keep your boobs 'active' in the pocket! Bit like a gym session for your tah-teenies!! Shifty dance Flash

Hey gemari! I was 6 weeks yesterday and I've started wearing underwired! I wear sports bras most of the time but if I'm going out during the day or on a night out I wear underwired!
Only problem being a rushed into buying 34DD and I've been measured at a 32F so I need to hit the Trafford Centre today and get some suitable support for these babies!

Thanks for your replies ladies. I'm wearing one of my bras now and actually feel more supported than in my compression bra  hubby says they look fine and huge lol so I think I just have to get used to them. Once I get used to wearing these regular ones I'll try something which will push them together a bit. Xxx

Yup, I agree with the others too. Ocassionally, if Im going out and the top I have on would show the sports hammock I wear a wire-free bra but I feel dead guilty about it when Im doing it and a bit worried I will do something to myself (d**k arnt I?!?!?Nervous about wearing a proper bra 869500 )

If I have tho I make it up to my boobies by wearing the sports hammock to bed - DF looooooves this - NOT hahaha
