Had my first proper bra fitting!

sooo, seeing as i was 9 weeks yesterday i decided to book myself a bra fitting at bravissimo!

i am meant to be wearing sportsbras for 12 weeks, so not too much longer to go, and i want to wear a proper bra at a friends wedding next week :)

anyway, advance booking is very much recommended at bravissimo and then they guarantee you a 20min time slot as well. when i got there i could see why booking was a good idea, there were so many ladies waiting!

so my fitter took me into a fitting room, she asked if i'd ever been fitted before and i explained about my BA, then she had a look at me in my sportsbra, she said it was a little difficult to gage because i was obvs in a sportsbra not a normal bra. i said i was wearing a 32D sportsbra. first of all she took the extender out of my sportsbra and told me not to wear that lol as it needed to be tighter.

then she asked if i minded her seeing me without a bra on. i said no not all, so then she looked at me topless and went to get some bras for me.

we tried on a LOT of bras, she went away to get more and different ones about 5 times and probably spent about 40minutes with me in total.

she would give me one to try on, fasten it at the back for me (i'm rubbish at doing that, i always fasten and then swing it around which i know you're not meant to do!), then she adjusted the straps and looked at the wires in the front.

what she did every time as well was pull the central wires up at the front, ouchy for my poor boobies! then she asked me to pull my boobs up into the cup properly, and sometimes i had to bend forward and jiggle "vigorously"! lol 

i had been trying on bras myself for a few weeks now every now and again, and after a bit of trial and error and starting at 32DD i thought last week i should try a 30E, but then they didnt have any in the store i was in, so i left it.

anyway, the result of today's fitting was...... a 30E!! i wasn't too far off myself then... :) the measuring guide that 5stonedown posted recently put me at a 30DD, so its good to give you a rough idea of where to start!

so although we finally decided on 30E it wasn't an easy process! she first said i was a 28 back and fitted me into a 28F, but then a lot of the 28s we tried were too tight, so she changed her mind and said 30E mostly, but i could be a 28 in some depending on the make. i came away with a 30E panache bra and a 28FF (!!) bravissimo plunge bra. she said because it was plunge i may find myself having to go up a cup size sometimes.

i then went to debenhams and bought another 30E bra which fit perfectly straight away without much pulling and jiggling lol, and then also bought a bikini which was a 32E! the 32 back fit snugly and the cups were perfect too. a different brand 32E i tried on the other week the cups were way too big! and i bought a 32D bra a few weeks back which also fits well on the cups!

bra fitting is a confusing business lol, but my rough main size is 30E which i'm very happy with other than a 30 back can be a bit tricky to find, and also i would say i look nowhere near to what i used to imagine an E cup to look like! it just goes to show much down to perception it all is! 

all good fun though, and i bought a fab dress the other week which shows a bit of cleavage, i tried that on with a new 'proper' bra and it looks amazing!! :)

9 weeks one I'm still happy about my decision to have a BA every single day! :)

jen the boob greed never completely goes away haha! i still look at girls on the train or in the street sometimes and think, damn i want your boobs! and i still wouldnt mind a bit more, in that i would prob be tempted to go bigger if i had a re op for other reasons, but as it is i'm so happy with them, and i'm happy about them every day! :)

can't wait to experiment more with different bras and tops/dresses soon!

That's great Hunni, bet you are so pleased with that.......amazing size........ It's really good that they spent the time with you too, as whenever I have been for a fitting I'm never there long....... So at least you got a good idea. I don't know where my nearest bravissimo is, but will have to find out....

it was good to find out my proper size although i'd had a rough idea before, and i asked the fitter all sorts of questions on how different bras should fit, so hopefully i'll be more knowledgable when buying them later on!
