First proper bra fitting since BA
Hi girls. So next Thursday I have booked an appointment for john lewis for a bra fitting. The lady said they measure differently to m and s. She said they measure round your back to get that spit on and then try bras to get one that fits in the cup. She said m and s measure the cup but all bras are different in cup sizes from store to store. Sounds promising to me. I'm excited to see. I know my size in a sports bra but they quiet often are a different size in cup to a proper pretty bra. I told them I'm not ready for wires yet but I would like to purchase and try on one for size. How exciting. My surgeon may give me the all clear on Monday for wires but I don't feel ready just yet. Still it's nice to have one waiting . :yahoo:I do t have a bravissimo near me so john lewis at bluewater fir me seems very good wahooooooo xxxxx

Hi charlii it seems my boobs have dropped now not sure about fluffed. All my swelling seems to have gone, unless I really over do things. I think I could probably get quiet an accurate cup size now. I'm a 34 round the back but not sure about cup size. Xx

Fluffing can take a while, I wouldn't worry too much. The only way I knew I had was because I was spilling out of my previously fitted bras! Like you say, if you don't feel ready for wires, don't force it! But it's nice to know your size for when you are.

Re: First proper bra fitting since BA
I'd recommend bravissimo every time, the time and care they take with you is very helpful and it's not rushed and is a lovely experience.
The girls are specially trained in bra fitting.
I'm sure John Lewis will be great also just as a back up if you have a bravissimo near you I'd highly recommend their fitting also. X
And as for wires, mine wernt ready either at 6 weeks, I had to break them in over time. And even my surgeon recommended the same, when you wear a bra it pushes your boobs into what can be an uncomfy position early post op when they're still settling and there's not much movement in them.
Even now I only ever wear wires if I'm going out and about other than that the majority of the time I'm in my comfy sports bras! X

Its so exciting Anne! I was a bit scared of wires but they are actually really comfy in wired bras, and y boobs habe changed a lot since wearing them.

Hi Anne- Super exciting...I cant wait until I can get measured and buy a nice bra. Its going to be too tempting to buy loads of them - even though I know I shouldn't until I have settled.
6 weeks does sound soon though hey. I have to wear blasted support/ sports bras for 3 months day and night!
I LOVE Brighton.. you should definitely take Mrs Ball up on her offer especially as you only live about 45 mins away!

Oh yes we should all meet up in the spring. And go bra shopping and go for something to munch in the lanes. How about it Jen ? Or anyone else for that matter. Xxx

Better start saving if I'm going to go to bravissimo in brighton. I know what I'm like with pretty bras. It won't just be a couple. Xx

Looking forward to hearing how you get on Anne. It's always such a special day when you go for your first fitting and it's good you've called ahead and have an appointment slot so the fitter can give you their full attention. Xx
Re: First proper bra fitting since BA
I can't wait. I'm an E in a sports bra so it would be nice to either be an E or an F in a nice sexy bra. Xxx

Re: First proper bra fitting since BA
Oh that would make my day!!! But I would still be happy with an E . Do you think an under wired bra would come up as a bigger size than a non wired bra? Xxx

Re: First proper bra fitting since BA
No Anne. Bra cups are all measured in volume in the same way your boobs are, so whether a bra is wired or soft cupped, the bra cup is always going to be the same size.
Unless....you're looking at different manufacturers and then it's always best to check first. Just like clothing sizes differ from Miss Selfridge to M&S, so bra manufacturers also. Xx
