Re: morning boob
When your first post op you get this horrible rush of blood when you first try to stand up and get out of bed. Makes your boobs feel heavy and tight... Like they might just fall off you!! At first , it was so bad for me I would take painkillers about 10 mins before getting up so it wasn't so bad. Lasted about 2 weeks slowly improving each day...

Re: morning boob
Ouch! I had morning boob for the first 10 days or so. Used to have to take a deep breath when getting out of bed. Kind of feels like your chest is very tight & achy, but like your boobs don't belong to you (yes like they are going to fall off!). It just uncomfortable hun but nothing to worry about. I'm not sure why it happens, prob due to swelling & perhaps because of the muscles. it's very strange! xxx

Re: morning boob
Yes i had to take deep breaths for a minute when i sat up like Jojo says but to be honest it soon passed so i didnt need painkillers gone within a minute or so but still not nice :( xxx It would happen more if i'd slipped down in the night so just try to make sure ur as upright as possible for the first week or so, V pillow was a must for me xx

Re: morning boob
It's horrible; that first minute or so after getting out of bed and then things settle a bit. Getting less each day though. I agree with annaliese76 - it happens more if I haven't been upright enough.

Re: morning boob
Hey peggysue - also will help you to get up and go for a gentle walk back and forth through your flat...it eases morning boob b/c the circulartion flows and the blood and swelling goes down from the boob area.
Ice packs (frozen peas) is also a godsend for morning boob!

So true Annaliese. I still get it occasionally if I've slept funny. I'm now able to sleep on my side but still keep myself slightly raised with a pillow as I find I ache less first thing. Fortunately nothing too bad now! xxx

Re: morning boob
Hiya - its was one of those things that on the recent thread 'what do you wish you'd known before' ... I wished that I had known - cos I would have been more prepared for it and it probably wouldnt have been such a bleepy shock!
It is fairly gruesome - Ill be honest with you - but as sparkyleeds said you look in the mirror (once you've heaved yourself up!) and think ah bollerks its SOOOOOOOO worth a bit of pain!
It is short lived and really getting up is the best thing cos the walking around and gentle (oooh very gently) rotating your arms a little helps - I think its like stiffening up in your muscle when you are sleeping and less active ... your other half not far off then

Re: morning boob
I spent the first week or so hunching think that could have something to do with the weight? Now I'm very conscious of standing upright xx

Re: morning boob
I went out today for a walk down town (and a much needed mocha) i was walking so slow as i thought my boobs were guna drop off!! i stand quite hunched due to the weight, but i also feel that if i stand too straight i will just rip open my incitions lol

Re: morning boob
yes i think mine was a combo of those 2 things, and also I was kind of hunched over protecting them - they stuck out SO FAR past my old floppers - I didn't want to ram them into anything!!
but it'll hurt your back eventually and you'll be standing up straight after you get more used to them :)
