Sports Bra question
Hi ladies,
2 weeks post-op BA here...do you think it is OK to *not* wear the sports bra around for a while, like maybe 2-3 hours during the day to entice your breasts to drop a little more and sooner?
Thoughts?

Re: Sports Bra question
There is nothing that will make your boobs drop sooner they will heal in their own time. But most people give them selves a break for an hour or so. It doesn't do any harm.
Re: Sports Bra question
i was told after 2 weeks can go without sports bra for short periods of time but you'll know when u feel u want the support of ur sports bra, all ps feel differently thou so best to ask ur clinic xx

Re: Sports Bra question
Breast bands awful nikkita. But after 4 weeks of wearing it I'm getting used to it now. The worst thing is not knowing how long I'm going to have to wear or for and it makes it impossible to wear anything except jumpers or really high tops which in this weather not good. Never mind though they should fingers crossed ne ready to show off for my honeymoon on boxing day. Yeyyy so excited

Re: Sports Bra question
I was told to get a certain size and I bought a few sizes with bigger bands and smaller cups. Because if u go up a band size you need to come down a cup size. I was told to get a 34e and i also bought a 36dd a 36d and a 34ddg_unit86 wrote:hey girls was wondering how you knew what size of bra to buy pre-op. Re: Sports Bra question
Awesome, thanks for the replies. My nipples are so sensitive in it right now, by the end of the work day I'm like DONE with the damn thing and I just want to take it off and let my sisters breathe for a minute lol :) But, nikita was right...she hit the nail on the head. I know when I need the support back, sometimes the weight of the new boobs is weird, so I'm like 'ok, need to put it back on.' lol.
Thanks girls!
Thanks girls!

Re: Sports Bra question
I would def buy some a band bigger. I am nearly 4 weeks and still feel more comfy in a 38 when I am a 36. I mainly bought d cups as that what size my surgeon and I agreed roughly I would be, but I also got a dd for swelling and didn't want to be sendin4 the fella out on day 1 to buy a bigger bra for me! Lol. I have now accumulated 9 sports bras in various sizes and colours and its amazing how different my boobs look in them. I have got a thing about wanting to keep washing them as well... don't want any infection risk on the wounds. SO on advice would be buy as many as You can before in different sizes! GEt them off ebay about £6 each x

Re: Sports Bra question

Re: Sports Bra question
I have got both... yes the Asda one is less supportive. I got some unbranded ones that are better off an ebay shop... I think it was called essentialunderwear, check it out if you have an ebay account.

Re: Sports Bra question
I'm not sure if the post surgery bras might be for masectomy patients. The Asda sports bras do the job but not everyone gets on with them. I've heard the Tesco sports bras are brilliant but I have yet to try one. Shock absorbers are very good. You will need a high impact sports bra. I also bought myself the z bra online which is a post surgery bra especially for ba's. There are others made by royce or macom, these bras are expensive.
Re: Sports Bra question
yeah i think il maybe invest in a macom bra at least for the first week then i can maybe go out try find some better ones to fit and thanks il have a look on that ebay shop. i think they are for masectomy but ive heard they give really good support? worried al get it wrong and they'll set in the wrong shape or something lol so much choice. thanks xx

Re: Sports Bra question
I've got two Z-Bras as they're half price from an online store "Sweatshop". Haven't had my op yet but they certainly look like just the thing
