very last sports bra question
Hi girls,
Does this sound correct.
Im aiming for a DD cup size with the BA and have beem advised by my consultant tp buy a DD sports bra for swelling. ....???
Surely I would need a bigger sports bra?? Once the swelling goes down won't I be smaller than a DD..

Re: very last sports bra question
my surgeon doesnt work in cup sizes and even though in my head i was aiming for a big c small d my surgeon told me to get a DD sports bra in a 34
I had to go up to a 36dd and then i slowly came down to a 34dd/32e and now im in 32e sports bras
your surgeon might want you bra quite tight on you, give them a call and ask, xx

In what back size though Hun, remember a 36 dd for example to allow for swelling is going to be bigger than a 32dd x bra expanders are your best bet to make more back size without having to fork out for new sports bras x

Re: very last sports bra question
Did they tell you to buy a bigger band size too? As when you go up a band size you usually come down a cup size. So if you are aiming for a 32DD post BA going up a band size would mean getting a 34D but if you needed to allow for swelling getting a DD would achieve that. Saying that I was told to buy an E and was later measured as an F.
Re: very last sports bra question
Well I've lost some weight the last month or two.
So I measure a 33 back atm.
So I order a 34....???

Re: very last sports bra question
If you're aiming for a DD hun, then you'll wear a DD. its advisable also to get the next size up also, because surgeons as good as they are can only give you a guesstimate size so maybe get an E cup also. Keep all tags on and you can then take back the size you don't use.
Back size, buy your back size and buy your self some bra expanders too hun, they're great for helping when you have swelling around the ribs and saves you having to buy more bras after the swelling settles.
You won't ever go smaller in the cup size. Its only the band size that will reduce after the swelling subsides. Xx

O I see. ...I thought you had to buy a size up because of the swelling.
Now that makes sense. I thought buying a DD with the swelling would be too tight.
Thanks

Re: very last sports bra question
As the swelling settles in the cup hun and the skin/muscle relaxes to allow for the implant to show its true size instead on being held back, you won't ever go smaller, you just swop the swelling for the increase in breast size as everything else relaxes and you fill out hun. So your cup will only ever increase rather than decrease... But the increase is generally later on in your healing (generally 4 to 12 weeks)
Re: very last sports bra question
I was a 30b so bought 32dd and 32 E. The DD was fine on the loosest clip, then as swelling went down I used the tighter fastrening. I kept the tags on the E and took them back for refund.
