Another sports bra question Empty Another sports bra question

Post by icecream 6th August 2012, 4:16 am

Okay, so today's the day I get to put on my sports bra! Cheerleader My ps said to wear the same size I previously wore (34B)! shrug I put them on and boy is the band really tight around my ribs! I'm worried about my incision! I put an extra gauze on top of the one I have, but I can still feel it pressing against it.

I have an extra sports bra that's a size bigger (36B) and it feels a lot better but not sure if I should go against what my ps advised me to use! I've asked him twice about what size I should wear so I don't really want to ask him again and make him think I don't know how to follow instructions!

From what I've read on here, most of you seem to buy sports bra that fit your new sized boobies, right?! I just find it strange that I have to squish mine in something a lot smaller!

The surgical bra I was put in straight out of surgery is pretty tight although I had a nipple incision. I'm constantly tugging at it cause it's so tight! I was told to wear this bra ONLY for a month. I think the Dr. wants it tight for a reason??

Excited4boobies: yeah most people tend to buy bigger, and slot of people require a size up in band due to the swelling. Bra needs to be snug, but you should still be able to just get two fingers underneath the band. Just contact him again hunny, to confirm, make sure you explain how tight it is. Most PS get midered to death post o believe me!!!!x

Wishful, maybe that's exactly what i'll do, go up a band with a smaller cup! It should work out the same, right?!

Your bra shouldn't make you so uncomfortable that it hurts e4b, your bra should feel snug, but not tight, if it's hurting you lovely, wear the wider band. Many of us have swelling around the ribs after surgery, so going up a band size to compensate for the swelling is what most of us do lovely. xx

I know you want to follow your PS's advice to the letter which is great, but if you're causing yourself discomfort then something isn't right. Give him a ring and check, he won't mind and he definitely won't think you're a pain for asking!

Alright, went up a band, explained it to ps and he's fine w/ me going up one size. I added an extra strip of gauze on top of the incisions to be double safe : feel a lot better now. Thanks ladies! Xx
