Can't believe it Antibiotics given me thrush :( 221105

as if i don't have enough to contend with the antibiotics the hospital gave me have given me thrush!

Rang my own GP and she has given me canestan to use so here's hopeing it works.

Think i've only 1 more day of the antibiotics to take an then that'll be the course finished Antibiotics given me thrush :( 899188

Didn't like taking them anyway as they made me feel doped up and bloated.

Slowly but surely getting back to feeling normal Antibiotics given me thrush :( 184153

My twinnies will be 1 week old tomorrow Antibiotics given me thrush :( 923101

I get it every time I take antibiotics, it's awful hun and expecially when your not feeling at your best anyway. Hope it clears up soon x

Aw you poor thing, antibotics can really do that to you, what your gp gave you will clear it up in no time. Cut down on yeast too for a few days as that doesnt help it, i got told that when i was pregnant and had it. Hope you feel better soon babes. xxx

my doctor prescribes canestan at the same time as antibiotics.
They never fail to give me thrush

Ouch. Canestan will clear it up really quickly tho and hopefully you'll start feeling more back to normal x

Hi hun,odd as it sounds try putting natural live yogurt on a tampon,it really helps.If you don,t like the sound of that then you can get Canestan cream over the counter i think x

Ommmggg, wow I have so many worries on this as I am one to always get thrush with anti-biotic's....now that someone has mentioned it i think Im guna stock on tubes of cream next to the bed post BA lol.
Ive heard good things actually about bio yoghurt...if you dont like the tampon idea...a sanitry towel is good...put some on the and that will cooolll you right now....
I wonder if you are aloud to take the thrush tablets that you can get post BA?!?! hmmm

Just explained my symptoms to a male doctor :heehee: about being constipated and my front end being sore and itchy so he's prescribed me a one off tablet and got one for my husband too as we had sex and that's when I noticed I was sore and itchy.
So pleased he didn't ask to look down there I'd be soo embarrased. xx

When taking antibiotics its a good idea to take acidophilus tablets as they put back the good bacteria that the biotics kill off !! you can get them at health food shops in strawberry flavour and take 2 a day,great when travelling abroad too ,stops you getting bad guts !!xxx

Your welcome nat, i used to have a lot of trouble with my guts on hols but these seem to stop it happening,just remember that once opened they need to be in the fridge,and dont have them the same time as a hot drink as the heat will kill the good bacteria !!xxx

Poor you! A similar cure/prevention to the live yogurt is to drink one daily yakult pro-biotic. They taste really nice anyway so it's no hardship. I always do this when taking anti-biotics and no longer suffer from thrush so it def works.

This happened to me too, took two seperated doeses of the tablet and cream to get rid of. Those anti-biotics must be really strong as i dont usually have that problem with them.
