Showering the next day???
Hi girls! I'm having my BA on friday but I have a question. I have no problem following the PS's orders, but he says I can shower the next day. He says if the gauze on the stitches sticks, to just let the water soften it and wash it off.
Has anyone else, especially anyone who has had unders had this experience? I'm nervous to shower the next day, moving around, slipping around in soap, being in pain, washing my hair, what were your experiences???
The nurse says I'll feel SO much better after a shower the next day, but I"m terrified!!!

Re: Showering the next day???
Hey hun! I had my BA yesterday and was allowed to shower this morning. I had my incisions glued so i have no stitches or anything open. I highly doubt you will be able to wash your hair though. I had overs and I can't lift my arms at all, and was told not to as well, bit like that old impulse (i think it was?!) advert where the girls danced with their arms stuck by their sides?! That's me at the moment. Check again with your surgeon though, all surgeons are different and have their own advice, so follow them the best you can. Hope all is good! Xxx

Re: Showering the next day???
Thanks girls, yea, I'm sure I won't be able to wash my own hair, I guess I'll buy baby shampoo and have my BF do it. (in case it gets in my eyes OMG ouch!)
I may just wait and shower 2 days later, see how I feel. I have to go back to work soon after so I'll have to shower at some point or no one will want to sit near me!

Don't follow anyone elses post-op advice but that of your surgeon babe, if you do, you run the risk of making you aftercare null and void!
Follow the instructions you're given, your surgeon has given you post-op instructions that he thinks will get the best from YOUR surgery hun. Enjoy your early shower, I'm sure as my daughter would say, there will be many members here who will be well jel! xx

Re: Showering the next day???
I had to wait ten days for a shower as I had to wait until I had my dressings off and stitches out!! Was torture haha & had to make do with shallow baths. I also made good use of dry shampoo as there was no way I could have washed my hair - I did get it done once at the hairdressers as a treat xx

Re: Showering the next day???
i had glue and was allowed to shower next day but just didn't really feel up to it cause i was sore and out of it from the meds. so waited a few days. did not have unders (or overs) but definitely did not feel like washing my hair for quite a while. that being said having a shower did feel very nice. good luck friday!
