i'm sleeping almost flat and on side????
hi girls, just want to query wether its ok at 1 wk post op to sleep nearly flat and also on my side, i feel ok doing this and am just a bit achy in the morning so have no problems sitting myself up, do you think i may harm them if i sleep on my side or dislodge them? a lot of you seem to have to sleep upright for a good couple weeks so is it because you have been told to or because its more comfy? i dont want to do the wrong thing here!
thanks marie x x x

hey there hunnie. I think different surgeons will give different advice but mine said that it was ok for me to sleep flat or on my side after one week-as long as it felt comfortable for my boobs to do this!x

I think it is probably too early yet personally!!! Sleeping upright is advised to ease swelling and aid healing of muscles and scar tissue. Also, to enable the implants to settle into their pockets. I was told 3 weeks (anatomical, unders)
I would ring the p.s./nurse to clarify marie. I am surprised you feel comfortable enough soo early. We are all advised different, so best to ensure you follow their advice.xxx

Hiya, I have not been sleeping that propped up about 30 degrees I'd say but I also been comfy on my side which I do for a bit for a change but not for long as I do thnk it is probably too early to do that for all the above reasons - the sec of mine PS is very laid back but I am going to phone her tomorrow and ask her that ... talk soon.

Re: i'm sleeping almost flat and on side????
ok claire will do. i have a list of questions as they never told me much after my op...main one being what size implants, tho i'm certain they are 240's now as looked up the ref no on the implant site...not a bad size for 240's he he.
have just written your questions down as well now, will put a post up tomorrow with all my results.
had another 'cling film' shower today and even managed to straighten my hair so feel much more normal..
love marie x x x

Re: i'm sleeping almost flat and on side????
missmarie, didn't they give u a post-op card with ure implant size on?? I got one as soon as they moved me back to my room?
I'm now awake at 5.27 with horrid tummy cramps- think its toilet reasons but i also woke up slanted slightly on my left and worried i've done some damage...
I'm rubbish at sleeping normally, so upright really sucks but i wanna give my new babies the best chance ever. x

I could only sleep sat up slightly, found it too uncomfortable any other way. I was advised to sleep upright slightly for a week then I was ok to sleep how I wanted after that. xx

I slept upright for 2 weeks and gradually turned on my side after that x
Re: i'm sleeping almost flat and on side????
Hi missmarie60 - i am sure you have more than 240's there , you look the same as me if not a wee bit bigger and weren't you 34a cos I was 34aa/flatso - how was the appointment ? xx I have been more or less been sleeping just on 2 pillows for the last couple of days. Oh yes, girlfriend she thought don't use the oil on scars till they are properly dry and sealed and only after that. Also wonder what sort of wonderbra she was speaking about - must look the thread up again cos i went straight upstairs and understood the PS comments on why to wear one .X

Re: i'm sleeping almost flat and on side????
I was told to sleep on my back for at least 4 weeks wearing my bra so implants settle proper in their pockets.
I'm dying to sleep on my side. Luckily, I've a memory foam mattress so it's pretty gentle on my . Though I'm not sure if making such a dint in it with my large rump for such a long time will make it lose it's memory !!

Re: i'm sleeping almost flat and on side????
I've started sleeping on my side, wasn't really planned, just woke up that way a few days ago & it felt lovely!!! Didn't hurt at all and was great after being propped upright and on my back for nearly 2 weeks!!
I have still been going to bed slightly propped up and on my back every night as I know it aids the swelling and stuff but waking up like this is now a regular occurence as I just seem to end up moving!I checked with my nurse who fine with it so think it's ok. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
