Steri Strips

Hiya Ladies

Ive got some steri strips from boots as the scar on my righty is still all scabbed over only a tiny bit has fell off as the leftie almost all the scabbing has gone.

Is this normal do you think or should i contact my PS and also will the steri strips do any good as they seem to be to just hold the scar together?

Its normal for them to heal at different rates hun, dont worry, i kept steri strips on until all the scabbing had gone x

I was told to leave steri strips on for 4 days after i had my first post op appt and then soak off in shower? you cud check with PS? One of mine healed quicker than the other hun, its normal! x

I had my post op appointment 7 days after op, and she put steri strips on my scars beacause there was a tiny bit of blood, but she said i should remove them as soon as poss to let the air heel them. I took them off the next day and they are heeling really well. I had disolvable stitches, don't know if this makes any difference?

Yeah mine were disolvable aswell hun, its mainly my righty but its really itchy aswell so im assuming that means its healing?

Just want them to be normal im so impatient! lol

Hiya hunny, i asked when i went for my 10 day check about steri strips and the nurse said its best to keep them naked, lol, to let the air get to them so they can heal naturally, i think people are told different things tho hunni, doesnt help you much i know, lol, xxx

Confusing I know!! I was told micropore for softening and healing...or leave to nature. I wore the micropore for six/seven weeks, also helped bra from rubbing. I now wear silicone strips and they are barely noticable, however mine have always been very neat, no scabbing etc. I would think they will heal just find with nature. All the best.xx

Hey hun, my scars were itchy for quite a while, it's normal as they are healing... I also was told to keep the steri strips for 4 days after the dressings were taken off, and then leave them naked, but the best thing is to contact your nurse or ps as everyone suggests different things!!
