soo upset!!!
So I seen my surgeon today finally and he completly agreed with me that I needed a reop from my assymetry and he said he would do it completly at his cost, so I was really excited and so I mentioned that I would actually like to go slightly bigger since I will be under anyway, he said I would not be able to go bigger cause my uplift was based around my implant size we chose so the scar would be off, and on top of that more complications can happen so he refused :( I am so bummed out!! I spent most of the afternoon crying because not only is he not going to make me bigger he is going to take my nice full bigger breast and make it the same as my smaller one!! has anyone heard of this before??

Re: soo upset!!!
mmmh there was someone on here who tyhis happend too, but i cant remember what her username was. she liked her bigger fauller boob, but thats the one they were going to match to her smaller one. did you ask him why this is? im sure there will be a valid reason but at the same time, i understand your frustration. Would you be able to have a bigger implant in a few years when the skin stretches?

Re: soo upset!!!
Oh you poor thing, how upsetting for you! Maybe its because he's already taken the skin away so a bigger implant might not fit into the space he's created. What Jen said about a bigger implant might be an option later on, but I don't suppose that helps how you feel now sweetie . I would consider possibly getting a 2nd opinion .
Hope it works out for you xx

Re: soo upset!!!
Hm maybe ask james on this one. Speak to your surgeon again when you are calmer and ask why he cant even them out with a slightly bigger implant for the smaller breast once your boobs have healed a bit more
Re: soo upset!!!

Re: soo upset!!!
It must be disappointing, but think about it this way... he's your surgeon. He's studied for years in his profession. He's already cut you open and operated on you, so he knows best. Would you rather have a bigger implant and risk further complications down the line, like rippling, or have smaller but better looking boobs?
Sometimes a re-op further down the line can mean going up a size, but personally I'd just be thankful he's offering the reop for free and you'll get even boobs. May not be what you want to hear, but he's paid to give you a good look and if bigger boobs won't look good you have to respect that, or find another surgeon and get his advice.

Re: soo upset!!!
I'm so sorry this happened to you! When they go in to enlarge the size of an existing implant, they can only fill it a certain amount in order for the implant warranty to not be voided by the company. In reading about this online, most companies have a set amount each implant can be over or under filled. And if he just takes it out and puts in a bigger implant on that side this would cost him money.Maybe this was a factor in the dotor's decision.
I think in order for him to increase or decrease the size of an implant,he has to go in and turn the implant around to get to the valve. You would think that action would be just as invasive as changing out the implant to a larger size.I would get a second opinion if you can.The only other thing I can think of is that your skin maybe on the thin side and it truly can't take a larger implant. That happened to a friend of mine. She had implants for about 8 years and went in for a lift and they told her she could only go to a certain size implant because her skin was thin partially due to having large overs for years. So she ended up downsizing & going with unders. But after her healing she looks awesome!
Please keep us informed. My left side is looking smaller than my right and I'm at 5 weeks post-op as of tomorrow.I'm hoping it's because it hasn't drop as much as the right side. But my gut feeling is that I will end up with 2 size breasts. It's driving me mad, ugh! So I know how your feeling.
Best wishes to you!

Re: soo upset!!!
I wish it was that simple Emme I have slicone so in order to go bigger he would have to remove and replace it, the reason he wont is because it is a big surgery and he thinks it would result in more surgeries to fix the assymetry, and also the scarring..although at this point I dont know if I really care about the scarring..I think somewhere a long the lines he mentioned that the cost would be high, so I'm not sure if that is another reason why he's steering me away from it...I'm so confused

Re: soo upset!!!
I'm so sorry.Take a few days to think about getting a 2nd opinion.Even if it's just to ease your mind on your current doctor's advice.I'll be thinking of you and I wish you the best!
